The location alone is hard to beat and perfectly positioned with easy access to the Beauregard ski lift and surrounded by some of the most beautiful alpine scenery imaginable. The suite was breathtaking, with a stunning view overlooking Mont Blanc that we never got tired of admiring. Waking up to that panorama each morning was truly magical. The suite itself was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with cozy beds that guaranteed a great night’s sleep after a day in the mountains. Dining was another highlight of our stay. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent with high-quality ingredients, delicious flavors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made every meal feel special. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every single person was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a beautiful, memorable experience, whether you’re relaxing in the spa, enjoying the cinema, or simply coming back from a day on the slopes. Chalet Alpen Valley is the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. We left feeling relaxed, pampered, and already planning our return. (1,000 reviews) The hotel itself was great - large, spacious rooms, including a full soaking tub and huge shower, very clean and comfortable room. We had a small balcony to enjoy the views. Staff was very nice and helpful. Only a 5 minute walk to the Bastille where we enjoyed riding the cable cars up the mountain for an amazing view. However, the immediate area outside the hotel and throughout the city, we did not feel safe - even in the daytime. Do you research on crime and the sections to avoid. We made the mistake of walking from the train station to the hotel, but took an uber on the way back because we did not want to venture out, It's a shame because this city has so much potential. We found the hotel to be grubby (there were old ski clothes under the bed and in the drawers when we arrived). The room was an awkward shape and very noisy being at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was disappointing and on most mornings we were simply ignored. Parking was expensive, ski hire was extortionate (we went elsewhere). We were also shocked to be charged for the bowling/games. Overall, just dull, miserable decor and a hotel trying to be something it isn't. Luckily we got a good rate, but I would definitely look elsewhere when staying in Tignes next time. The balcony overlooking the mountains was an added touch, where we could sit and enjoy a coffe or wine and watch the skiers go by. Really nice to have inclusive access to a swimming pool and jacuzzi at the end of a day on the slopes. Spa treatments were very good and staff very experienced and freindly. Only downside was no chicken on the menu for a main all week. I dont really like red meat like venison and do not like fish. Yes im a fussy eater, but could only eat a starter of caesar salad in the hotel.
