My stay at the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. This hotel should not be rated four stars, and it certainly should not be presented as a luxury property. The problems started with housekeeping. They failed to remove the trash from my room and left behind cups from the café. At the same time, they took away soap that I had specifically requested to keep. And everything was filthy. The walls are unbelievably thin. I could hear people in neighboring rooms and, incredibly, I could even hear someone upstairs urinating loudly. Cleaning staff would stand outside my room talking loudly, while vacuum cleaners repeatedly bumped into my front door. This is not what anyone should expect from a supposedly upscale hotel. At around 11 a.m., a fire alarm went off on the seventh floor, waking me up. I called the front desk, but nobody answered. I emailed the hotel and tried calling again later. When I finally spoke with someone, I was essentially laughed at and told, “It’s loud — haha, that’s the point.” I understand that a fire alarm needs to be loud. What I do not understand is laughing at a guest who is calling to report the experience and express concern. I also cannot understand the bathroom design. The shampoo and conditioner are placed inside the bathtub in a location that is difficult and dangerous to reach from the shower. I am running out of characters to insult this place. Don’t stay here!

Great experience. Only downside if coming by car no drop off or parking near. Had to use other hotel around. Parking prices steep.

Property was excellent. Requested an extra bed for my daughter and it worked out great. Breakfast was fabulous and included in the booking which was very helpful. You can’t go wrong with this brand. Location was great as well.

Beautiful property, well-kept rooms, outstanding service. The food isn’t amazing but it’s fine by hotel standards. Would stay here next time in Cork.

Great service from staff at reception and accommodating with check in/out.

A wonderful hotel right in the touristy area. I will only say that because of the location next to a few businesses, it can be loud at night. For two of our three nights it sounded like very loud karaoke outside our window making it hard to sleep. We kept the window ajar because there's no A/C which made the noise louder. Other than that, the room was clean and spacious with a great bathroom. The other parts of the hotel were nice too. Breakfast was great but limited in selection (and repeated everyday).
