We were put in an ADA room which I did not ask for. The room was heavily perfumed to the point it made me nauseous. I later learned that the room had a minor flood and they stuck me in that room. The next morning we were changed to a different room. Big drawback was that the windows did not open. Couldn't hear the ocean which is why I went there and paid premium pricing.
I've been going to the Galvez since the early 70's. I always thought it was such a grand hotel. It is still my choice in Galveston, but it really needs some changes like being able to open a window.
