Mannar Island Pet-friendly Vacations

We have just returned from a two week stay at this little paradise and can honestly say we loved every second. The villa has everything that you could need, it is safe, well designed, comfortable and clean with a gorgeous outside area that backs directly onto an unspoilt quiet part of the beach. WiFi and air conditioning are excellent. The team that work at the villa are exceptional. Kind, genuine and welcoming, they make Taru Villa 906 what it is. Anthony, Withana and Wasana took the greatest care of us and our one year old daughter, going above and beyond on numerous occasions. The food made by Wasana is incredible, he is an exceptional chef. I can honestly say that we ate most of the food on the menu and every dish was delicious. Every time we ate out we regretted it as it would never be as good! If you are looking for somewhere where you can really relax, with great service, food and standard of accommodation then Taru Villa 906 is for you. We will certainly be back.

My travel agent had originally booked me a hotel inland, but I couldn’t visit Sri Lanka’s coastline without spending a night by the beach. I found this hotel on Hotels.com, and I’m so glad I did! The location ( right on a quiet, scenic stretch of beach) was peaceful and beautiful. Most of the time, I had the beach almost entirely to myself. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The pool was lovely too, but honestly, the beachside area was just too perfect not to spend all my time there. Although I’m usually not a “massage person,” I have to say their therapist, Sharanga, was exceptional. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommend booking a full body massage with her! The food was delicious, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. On my last day, they even invited me to take part in a Christmas cake mixing ceremony, such a thoughtful and joyful experience. It was a beautiful way to end my time in Sri Lanka.

This hotel is situated on a beautiful private property, with a lovely garden and private beach with rock pools! Food - especially Sri Lankan food - was fantastic! The staff also made sure they did everything to make our stay a lovely one. But sadly, the place wasn’t up to standard. Rooms, toilets and surrounding areas looked worn down. The “white” look in these images - I can guarantee it’s not white. It was more yellowish. Our toilet seat broke while we were there. The place was clean, but it was definitely worn down. It’s not upto standard of a luxury villa, and it’s definitely not worth the price they charge for it!

Staff were friendly and we had shops and restaurants closer to the hotel
