(389 reviews) The room was exceptionally spotless, with an incredible flare by the interior designer. One quirky item though was the large corner floor model of indirect lighting. It looked like a photographer"s 48" high tripod with a 30" reflective concave dome to provide the full bedroom with lighting. It did not achieve that goal as the room was very dimly lit. The closet area had a drawer fridge and also a drawer safe, which both achieved function and space saving. The gym in the hotel has incredibly innovative fitness equipment that are both high tech and beautiful by design. The roof top bar, like the ground floor dining room uses the interior designers flare for Retro, with extensive use of porcelain, vintage mirrors and woodwork. I highly recommend the Hotel Montevideo, if it is within your budget to spoil yourself a little. (60 reviews) I had a large room with a large, marble bathroom. This hotel is located in a quiet suburb with large mansions. The hotel is a unique space as it was once a home. There is a nice pool in the yard, it is a couple blocks from the beach and a couple blocks from the D11 bus (Dr. Carlos Butler stop) which will take you downtown into the Ciudad Viejo.
