Was let down by the overall quality of everything else unfortunately. Just as a comparison to other all inclusive’s in Zanzibar which offered much more for a fraction of the price. Overall quality of the product to its value was poor all things considered. Would unlikely stay again. Some nice touches for sure like being greeted at the port. Staff are friendly and kind and try to accommodate but service feels like it’s new and a work in progress rather than a finished article. Menu for food isn’t very deep, quality was good on the whole but variety and quantity of the food and drinks was lacking. Simple requests like water bottles on our exit or fresh juices at breakfast not available some days, pastries running out. Some days the menu was restrictive and one day felt like we were given yesterday’s left overs. Gym, sport activities, bikes are included which was nice. Atmosphere and entertainment at meal times were a nice touch. Attempts were made to accommodate us and make the experience nice was appreciated such as the honeymoon welcome. Overall it’s feels marketed and priced as super luxury but on ground doesn’t meet those same standards, somehow feels as though you have to pay even more to get things that would otherwise be included in other places despite the higher cost. (381 reviews) I just got back from a 4-night stay at Riu Jambo, and honestly, if you’re looking for that postcard-perfect Zanzibar turquoise water, this is the spot. But like any big resort, there are a few things you should know before you book. The Location & Beach (10/10) This is the absolute highlight. Since it’s located in Nungwi, the tide doesn't go out for miles like it does on the East Coast. You can actually swim in the ocean all day long. The beach is pristine, and the sunsets from the jetty bar are probably the best I’ve ever seen. Pro tip: Head to the "See You" bar on the jetty around 5:30 PM to snag a seat for sunset. The Food & Drinks For an all-inclusive, the food was surprisingly good. The main buffet (Maisha) has a massive variety, but it can feel a bit like a "canteen" during peak hours because it gets very loud and busy. The Speciality Restaurants: We tried the Asian (Yunnan) and the Italian (Il Panzotto). The Italian place on the jetty is a must—the atmosphere is way more intimate than the buffet. Drinks: They don’t stingy with the drinks, and the cocktails are decent, though sometimes a bit sugary. The Rooms We had a lateral sea view room. It was modern, super clean, and the AC worked like a charm.
