Bellingwedde Luxury Vacations

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station. The hotel was close to the train station which meant it was easy to get out and about. The room I stayed in was very spacious with ample room to move about. The bathroom was also larger than expected. The only minor dissatisfaction with the room was I could see the Girl with the Pearl Earring painting in the room had what looked like some liquid streak on it which you could see at an angle, as well as some liquid streaks on the door that opened up the area for where the kettle is. One thing of note to anyone looking to stay at this particular hotel. There are major roadworks going on in front of the hotel which means the access to the train station is to go around the roadworks which isn't a lot more walking but still a detour to direct access. Whilst we were there which was over the weekend and a couple of days into the week there wasn't any actual work so there was not any noise disturbance. However, I can imagine that being an issue for hotel guests when work is going on outside the hotel.

My husband and I loved staying in this boutique hotel. The lobby, lounge area, and our room were all so beautifully decorated, and they have done a great time job of maintaining the historic character of the building. Our room was exceptionally clean and had a beautiful balcony looking out over the street. The bed and linens were so comfortable. All of the staff were lovely, and the added bonus of complimentary snacks and coffee in the lounge area was such a nice touch. The hotel is located in a beautiful area amongst the canals. We would absolutely stay here again!

Cool and comfortable hotel!

great breaky

Perhaps this hotel was once a 4-star but I can assure you it's more like a hostel now. Beginning with the few positives the bathroom was clean (aside from the stained towel), the bed comfortable, the views are great and the location is only 15 mins from Centraal. The lift on entry was filthy, the hotel lounge was dirty and and needs refurbishment. The breakfast was limited and not of the greatest quality. There were no proper coffee cups The carpet in the room had tissue on the floor, chocolate wrappers under the bed, the coffee machine didn't work, the fridge lets off a huge amount of heat and the air conditioning does not work. The furniture is tired and the fabrics stained, the net curtains were ripped in places and dirty. The television remote was sticky, half of the channels didn't work and had no Smart TV features. I can't think of what would compel me to stay with this hotel or indeed any hotel in this chain again.

I had stayed in a Social Hub in Madrid and found it to be an excellent alternative to main stream hotels. The one in Amsterdam was not the case. The location for this hotel is not very good. We were assigned a handicap accessible room without requiring nor requesting one. They did change our room but unfortunately the air conditioning in that room did not work. When I enquired at the desk I was told that none of the rooms had air conditioning because it was illegal in Europe to have AC. This is of course false. The rooms were climate controlled except our room was about 25-28 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 18. They said they would send someone but never did. We survived by opening the window and luckily the fall weather kept the room comfortable for sleeping. We did not spend any daytime hours in the room. Overall, for the money we paid, we could have had a much better hotel room, closer to the city centre and in a safer, more friendlier area. I do not recommend staying at this location.

Good location hotel but had a few issues with room cleaning and faulty shower repaired twice management was quite good at sorting issues
