The resort is set in a beautiful, lush, tropical setting. This time we stayed in a lanai garden room near the main pool. Comfortable beds, large tv, refrigerator, and nicely equipped bath area. There are two restaurants on site. Barefoot Bar and Grill is located overlooking Mission Bay. It is a casual, come as you are eatery overlooking Mission Bay serving delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. We have not eaten at Tidal, which is a more upscale, fine dining restaurant. There are three pools on the property, each with a jacuzzi. There is a fun miniature golf course that I believe is free for guests, and a small marina that rents several types of water crafts. There is also a well equipped fitness center and small market/ deli as well. (1,006 reviews) The staff was wonderful and very sweet to my dog. The room was a bit smaller than I expected and the views were not like I saw in photos of Petco Park. The only TV channel options were news and sports, which was a real challenge since I had my pup and wasn't going out. I hoped to watch a movie or two. Overall, and this is not a knock on the hotel at all, but the location was sketchy. Esp needing to walk a little dog, there were homeless people everywhere, the streets were filthy, and there wasn't a blade of grass anywhere to be found. It's quite disappointing b/c the gaslamp area used to be so much nicer but it did not feel safe and in fact I was basically told to only stay 3 blocks in each direction.
