Rooms were neat and clean… Great staff and services. Food was great. Overall we love our trip. Worth it!

The staff at the property was great. A special thank you to Laura, our personal concierge. She was exceptional and took care of all our needs. Her attentiveness enhanced our experience. There is one aspect that was a little disapointing, was the division of guests. The property offers Reserve rooms at higher price which includes the use of extra onside amenities such as an additional pool, bar and restaurant. So if you are not staying in this type of room, you are not permitted to use these areas. While I understand paying extra for larger room and services such as the spa, I disagree with restricting access to amenities. Walking past these areas knowing they are off limits lessen the otherwise enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Buffet could have been better. Our family tried making reservations at the restaurants and were told that they no longer had reservations and they would not be able to accommodate all 16 of us to sit together even though we said we didn’t have to all sit together. The rooms are motion censored and at night the fans would turn off. Which was a bit inconvenient since the room temperature is controlled we really couldn’t adjust to make our room cooler. The hotel is family friendly the kids really enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, Francisco the pool bartender was amazing. Over all nothing really bad just wished the food was better.

This is my honest review for the 5 days my family and I stayed at the resort. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great. The pools were great too! We got the family selection with the rooftop pool and my kids loved it and it was great! But there was alot of miscommunication between the staff. Before you book they send you a list of what you want and need for the room. I didn’t not recieve anything on the list. I had to request it more than 3 times before I got some of the items. For example like the diaper pail for my daughter, The baby supplies and baby sterilizer and bottle warmer. Which is fine if you don’t have it but don’t send a list requesting what you need just to not follow through. Since our room had a pool never received the pool towels after asking for it 2 times we used the bath towels. We had a butler service we were communicating with. We celebrated my daughter birthday which we paid for a cake and the decoration and everything in the room was beautiful but again the miscommunication cake came the wrong flavor and did not provide us with anything to cut the cake or utensils or anything. The staff did eventually try to set things right with all The inconveniences but the cake issues was never resolved or the towels. The resort was beautiful, the food was great beach was beautiful but very unusable but they have no fault in that just a lot of seaweed coming in and the staff tried to clean as much as possible.

We spent five wonderful days at this hotel. We wished we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect— the upkeep of the common areas, the rooms, the restaurants, the pools... everything was perfect! And what a pleasure the all-inclusive option was; we always managed to find something we enjoyed eating! Unfortunately, long lines for restaurant reservations meant we only managed to dine there once—though the meal was excellent. The staff are LOVELY, smiling, and very helpful. The entertainment is top-notch. Just a few minutes' walk across from the hotel, there is a small shopping center with a Starbucks and a bar/restaurant—perfect for picking up a few souvenirs! I returned home today, and I’m writing this with tears in my eyes as I look back on my stay. For all of this, I thank Allegro Playacar!

The property was gorgeous, I loved all the tropical foliage. The pool area was spectacular. The room was spacious, cool and quiet. The staff was exceptional. We enjoyed our meals at the onsite restaurant and our time at The Beach Club. My only regret was The Beach Club wasn’t open on Sunday and that was disappointing. We were directed to the sister property which was also nice with beach front area. Overall excellent stay, would book again.
