This is about our 6th stay at Alma. The hotel is lovely, the staff is gracious and friendly, special shoutout to Freddy and Francisco. The beach is awesome. The rooms large, clean and comfortable beds.

The property was nice for a large family to stay. It fit our entire family which was nice but it’s not shiny new. Road noise at night is obnoxious but we were near the front. The photos make it look perfect but it’s not. The area around is kinda sketchy but it is Jaco Beach. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and the main strip. The staff was the best part of the property. They were super friendly and the activities director was amazing. I would stay at this property again given the cost we paid vs other name brand hotels / properties. Overall I enjoyed our stay but it was because of the people that worked there.

Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. \~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing

We had an amazing time staying at Umami. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, the staff was amazing and the location was close to the beach. Also the drinks from the bar, 10/10\. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Puerto Viejo!
