It’s a cute boutique hotel, tastefully furnished, good staff. However it is a 3 star at a 4\* price (I’ve been to many 4 and 5 star hotels in Hawaii), it is tiny and there are no amenities: single restaurant, no outdoor breakfast, no pool staff helping with loungers and umbrellas, no beach service, no bikes, only valet parking (a hassle when you’re in Hawaii and need to take the car 4 times a day, a hassle having to manage a stash of 10$ bills to tip the valets). When you look at it from the boardwalk, it doesn’t look any different than the adjacent 3\* Marriott, other than the price.

The manager during our stay was rude when we tried to discuss the charges on our room. We were told one thing on check-in then charged something else. Wanted to argue the point and be confrontational rather than help figure out why it occurred and how they could better the process so that it does not happen again. Unwilling to take any ownership for desk staff error.

The room was beautiful and staff were very kind! The only annoying thing was that we weren't able to check in until 4:45pm (even though it states check in was at 4pm, which is already later than most hotels). The front desk said it was because of a lot of late check outs, but the brochure they gave me while I was waiting specifically said that late check outs were not available. The woman next to me also said the last time she stayed there, she wasn't able to check in until 5pm.
