Mimosa Road Beach Vacations

Large nicely air conditioned room with good size shower room and a little kitchenette. It’s a dog-friendly property which is awesome. Plenty of room in the underground carpark! The reception hours are limited, as advertised. Unfortunately, the “out of hours” number listed was not in operation. We needed to leave very early and forgot that we would need a key to access the carpark. We left the keys in our room (absolutely our error; we should have taken them at that stage and then dropped them in a discreet little drop box on exiting the carpark) and closed the door before realizing we couldn’t get to our car. There was nobody around and the out of hours number had a recording to try again later. We sat outside until the reception staff arrived and helped us out. It wasn’t the end of the world but would have been dramatic had we left something essential or had a flight to catch. Limited reception hours even in high season are one thing; not answering the phone is not acceptable. We recommend the property as good value for a motel experience, especially if you’re travelling with a pet. But learn from our lesson about early departure!

We loved the location and the property staff were lovely and helpful. It should be known though that there are TWO buildings: one on the beach with all the amenities, and then one way pup the hill, too far to walk, that has the Michelin-star restaurant but no other bar, cafe, gym, etc. It does have a pool, but the location is isolated. We were put in that building, and luckily the hotel moved us (for a fee). The hotel is also in desperate need of a refresh. Decor is tired, gym is tiny and dark, and the halls show a lot of signs of water damage. That being said, the staff was wonderful. Food was good, and for relaxation, we couldn't have been happier. We did here the hotel was going to be refurbished after the season so I am looking forward to seeing it next year.
