Ventura - Oxnard Adventure Vacations

We were so looking forward to this part of our trip...maybe our expectations were set too high after Tenaya@Yosemite. The lobby is gorgeous and smells like paradise. Staff was very kind, however, they needed to be bc there were hiccups along the way. I don't mind spending extra on vacation, but I want to spend extra for something special. The first morning we grabbed breakfast at Sugar Beets. $100 for 5 to have a la carte breakfast sandwiches and French toast sticks. Eh. It looked amazing, just tasted ok. My family never asked to go again. Room layout is great, lots of space! Balcony was lovely. Great place to eat treats from Oxnard Donuts in the morning! Delicious and fresh, don't let the exterior fool you. We never tried Ox And Ocean on the advice of another guest, but it looked beautiful! Our room had constant plumbing issues. It was frustrating and never resolved during our stay. It didn't seem like an unknown issue. The front desk offered $100 credit, which was kind. Be careful of fees, I'm not sure why at this location, but after our stay I received a bill for parking. Why parking is extra at a hotel in Oxnard is beyond me. Staff was great, the bones are great, the delivery, eh.

Overall stay was great for me and my family w 2 young kiddos. The only thing is, water is not available in the lobby after breakfast. The breakfast is decent and has a cool pancake machine.

They need new windows that are soundproof because you could hear the freeway all night long

Great place. Super nice staff was very helpful and the room had a big jetted tub. I liked the little street with access to the beach and a close walk to Santa BuenaVentura state park. Will return. It’s especially a great spot if you run the MTB marathon or Ventura marathons.
