(277 reviews) It’s a nice hotel. Nice room size. The check-in was a little annoying with paperwork to sign and away from the main hotel reception. It kind of gives you a bad impression upon arrival but we never went back to that building as everything was handled from the Canopy building. Excellent staff, had nice massages and great price, buffets were great. Had problems controlling a/c as it stayed too cold regardless of temperature setting so had to turn a/c on and off to control temperature. The room design is also a little uncomfortable with the bathroom door opening in and blocking the entire sink area. Slipped and fell in bathroom because that type of floor in bathroom area is very slippery when wet. Lucky did not suffer any serious injury but had some neck pain. The control of the lighting is also strange as there is no light switch on one side of the bed and no electrical plugs on the other side. We were in room 186 Alcove Building. (293 reviews) Seda Lio Resort is a beautiful property, and the staff were exceptionally courteous and accommodating throughout our stay. Since it is located right on Lio Beach, we were able to enjoy the beachfront without the heavy crowds of tourists you often find elsewhere. The only drawback is the location relative to the main town. It is quite far away, and we had to pay 300 pesos for an e-trike each way whenever we wanted to go anywhere outside of the Lio area. It is a wonderful spot if you want to stay put and relax, but the transportation costs do add up if you plan on visiting town frequently. (277 reviews) The location was spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival to get upgraded to a Sea/Mountain view villa, and the accommodations were very nice! This definitely enhanced our 7-day stay. Housekeeping were on top of things, and kept our room clean and tidy. Had one small issue with the hot water disappearing one day, but as soon as we notified staff they were on it and fixed it immediately. The only area in which our experience would have been enhanced is an expansion of the menu. All of the Filipino dishes were very good, but the menu was somewhat limited, particularly for breakfast. If your stay is only a couple of days this likely won’t be an issue, but for a week a bit more variety would be nice. However, this was not enough to take my rating down to a 4\. There are too many other great things that make the Matinloc Island Resort well worth visiting. We would definitely return for a second visit.
