Fantastic and budget friendly. Rooms are great. Very clean and well equipped. Restaurant has a great menu and the chef is excellent. Infinity pool is to die for. You’re can be accessed from the report. The lodge is isolated, so be prepared to eat in the area or the hotel across the way!

The location was spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival to get upgraded to a Sea/Mountain view villa, and the accommodations were very nice! This definitely enhanced our 7-day stay. Housekeeping were on top of things, and kept our room clean and tidy. Had one small issue with the hot water disappearing one day, but as soon as we notified staff they were on it and fixed it immediately. The only area in which our experience would have been enhanced is an expansion of the menu. All of the Filipino dishes were very good, but the menu was somewhat limited, particularly for breakfast. If your stay is only a couple of days this likely won’t be an issue, but for a week a bit more variety would be nice. However, this was not enough to take my rating down to a 4\. There are too many other great things that make the Matinloc Island Resort well worth visiting. We would definitely return for a second visit. Will try to post a few pics if I can once posted to Expedia. Words alone don’t do the place justice.

Stayed for 4 nights in Discovery Coron. This is actually our 2nd time in this island resort. The services were great. All the staff were courteous. Special mention to Theresa who always writes special messages to us when she comes to our villa for the turn down service. Special mention to Ian, who always greet us with a beautiful smile. He always takes a step ahead to make us feel special. My partner, Larry enjoyed having a conversation with him and we noticed that he does this to every guests. He is very engaging. We will definitely comeback to this beautiful island. I wish they can renovate all the sunset villas. We explored the island and we saw a lot of constructions going on. The garden/nature villas look beautiful and spacious from the outside. I wish that when we come back for the 3rd time, there will be improvements done on all the sunset villa. Overall, we are very happy that we chose Discovery Coron again.

Staff was very friendly, AC worked and room was clean. Bring your own toiletries because they aren’t provided. Might want to bring ear plugs b/c you hear a lot of outside noises (tricycles, cars, dogs barking/howling and roosters). If you’re looking for a basic room, this is it.
