(1,395 reviews) Several return travelers we met here had one word to describe it: consistent. The resort is consistently high-quality, the staff are friendly, the food delicious, and the rooms clean. Our experience was the same. Our family of 4 stayed comfortably in 1 room and enjoyed watching for whales from our ocean-view room. When we'd go to breakfast, Felipe knew our kids wanted his special chocolate milk with cinnamon. He also served at the cevicheria, which we ate at every single lunch because the menu was so good and the view of the water was mesmerizing. We set up for the day in the sand under the palm trees and relaxed while staff attended to us. The beach in front of the hotel has soft sand, and the water was clear and a beautiful blue-green. The waves were perfect for bodysurfing! We did not use the spa or gym, but we did get the Club access, which we highly recommend for adults. It gave access to a private rooftop deck bar with top-notch drinks, another rooftop pool and bar with the only hot tubs on the property, and a Mediterranean restaurant. What drew us here in the first place was its design; they've refreshed rooms and added features that make the place look and feel special. It is a smaller resort than ones we've been to in other locations, with one large pool. It had a small playset for little kids, and we saw a kids' club room. The only thing I wished for was that my teens had a hangout spot to meet friends. The good very clean, food was amazing, nice staff, improvements being made to the resort including adding another tower. The bad no chairs available by the pools or beach after 9:45am, beach area very small, short staff which made wait times longer, being sold as a family resort personally feel that it is set up for couples. Based on cost to stay and how busy we will not be making a third trip back to the resort. (1,004 reviews) We had a mixed experience at Grand Palladium (Family Selection). First the good things: 1) Kids club. Friendly staff, great amenities, day programming and evening shows. My kids loved it 2) Amenities. Good mix of beach, quiet pool, general pool with slides/waterfalls and Family selection exclusive pool 3) Food safety. All food was prepared well and we never had any stomach issues Now the bad things: 1) Food taste. The taste was more miss than hit, especially at Family Selection (Nest) which was supposed to be the premium offering 2) Gym. Old, stuffy, small. 3) Cleanliness. Pool chairs were dirty most of the time. 4) Construction.
