(470 reviews) This property is close to Paddington Station and is how we arrived in London. We arrived early and the staff was willing to hold our luggage for us. Incidentally, Expedia says to call ahead or contact the property. There’s no need for that. The property is prepared for you as long as you book through Expedia. The room was small, directly above the ground floor pub. A couple of nights were noisy for a while, but the pub closes at midnight so it wasn’t really an issue. Our room was small but clean. The restroom was really small but adequate. I couldn’t figure out the thermostat and couldn’t cool the room enough even though it is air conditioned. The bathroom got pretty warm because of poor ventilation. That was the biggest negative. The breakfast provided was what I would classify as light with the only warm option as toast, tea, and coffee. Still, it was fine and it was enough to start the day. The staff was always pleasant and welcoming. There is a bus stop near the hotel. It was convenient and we used that method of transportation often. The Edgeware Street Station is about an 8-minute walk down the road and we used that tube stop quite a bit. The neighborhood is a near a working-class commercial area and safe enough for us—we experienced no issues. This was a good value. It’s not fancy or big but I’d go there again. Not with kids, though. Just me and my wife. (19 reviews) Okay stay... We chose to stay here due to the opening offer discount, which we were happy with the hotel for what we paid, but would have been disappointed if we had paid more! One issue was the room bed size - we paid more for a king size bed, however, according to their very own receptionist, on the hotels booking system there is no differentiation between a double and a king. Therefore, they charge you more for a king when there's no difference to a double. The bed was 2 single divans pushed together (with one mattress though), so is a king size... So, just book the double to get a king size bed! The receptionist was very rude when we asked to check the room and spoke to myself and my partner in an aggravated manner. Had I been a lone female, I would have felt uncomfortable. Not professional for what is meant to be a 4-star hotel. We were also given a connecting room without being asked if we were okay with that - which we weren't really, it is London! In the rooms, none of the bathroom sinks have a plughole. Therefore, you cannot fill up a sink to wash your face/have a shave. This is likely because they have installed sinks with no overflow hole, therefore you could flood the room if you left the tap on. Our sink also had no hot water. When we reported it at the end of our stay (as we just put up with it), there was no apology.
