(1 004 avis) I attended a weekend conference at this hotel so it was selected for me. The staff were most friendly and my conference was excellent, but the hotel let itself down with ludicrous prices for food and beverages -- and my room had a ceiling of enormous cobwebs (see photo). One glass of red wine and a pint of beer was 13 pounds. The restaurant was full on the evening I arrived so I had to eat in the bar. My salad had 4 lettuce leaves and did not come with a dressing (see photo). The kitchen was unable to make a simple vinaigrette! On the Sunday morning notices in the hotel advised not to try and eat breakfast at the time most convenient for our conference. The hotel clearly houses more gusts than the facilities can cope with. It took 30 minutes for the hotel to find the manager to whom I recounted my difficulties -- and I have not received any form of communication since expressing regret.
