The hosts were very professional and polite during our stay. They let us leave our luggage there on our last day when our flight was at 10pm. The shuttle service they arranged was on time and very professional. (19 reviews) The Staff at Riad Ekla were friendly, efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The Riad was clean, tidy. Moustapha on Reception was excellent as was the other Moustapha the waiter along with his sister who was in charge of house keeping . A wonderful warm atmosphere , we felt like family. Highly recommend staying here. Super easy access to the souks and New Marrakech without being too noisy. We booked trips through the Riad which were wonderful and airport transfers. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful Honeymoon. The staff are exceptionally friendly and consistently strive to meet guests’ expectations—ask for something, and they are quick to accommodate. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the room service meets a high standard. Although the property is not brand new, it features traditional elements that add to its charm. The pool area is ideal for swimming or simply relaxing, and the live music in the evenings creates a wonderfully atmospheric setting. Staying here truly felt like returning home after each day’s adventures, and I would highly recommend it. The only minor drawback was the music from a nearby outdoor venue at night. (261 reviews) This is a nice hotel but definitely not a 5 start as claimed by Expedia. Reasons for this: 1\. Mini bar and coffee offered in the room - 2 coffee pods, not restocked. Nothing but a bottle of water in the mini fridge. Barely any choice of tea. And 2 mini milk pods. 2\. All inclusive does not include access to the spa facilities (understand treatments are extra but seriously?!). 3\. No extra pillows or blankets in the room which is standard. 4\. The fixtures in the bathroom are coming away from the wall. No one is checking the ongoing maintenance. 5\. No handsoap, just mini bars of soap which are very wasteful. 6\. Paid for a pool side room. It's a shallow puddle outside the room doors. No cushions in sight, you have to sit on hard concrete. 7\. The outdoor bars close at 6\. The food is incredibly limited. Simple snacks like fries aren't on the menu. You have to be friends with the barmen to get fries. 8\. Service - mentioned it's a birthday trip. Absolutely nothing. Not even a complimentary drink or snack. Definitely a 3 at the most. A riad would be better value and you would not be out of the city where everything is walkable. This is located a 25 minute drive from the Medina where all the great bars and restaurants are. All of the above is related to the hotel itself and not the service we received. The shower also needs shelves or something to hold shampoos and soap because keeping it on the floor is unhygienic. Also, there’s drop down floor to enter the bathroom and it was annoying and hazardous. Someone can easily fall and break bones. Other than that everything from hotel to food and service was top notch. We were seated and treated to Moroccan tea on the sunny rooftop and told about must visit spots in the area. Our rooms were cleaned while we out on excursions and the cleaning staff were so so lovely, even took pictures for us! Rooms were equipped with AC which was perfect for the cold nights and the rooms were clean and aesthetic. Lovely Riad tucked away, yet not far from the buzz (less than 5 minutes). Thank you!!
