The whole property was clean, well kept, and just had an elegant feel to it while still being very family friendly. It honestly felt like a home away from home. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was super friendly, helpful, and pleasant. That stood out because sometimes you walk into places and the welcome just feels off, but she made us feel right at home from the start. The room was spot on. Great find through Expedia. We had the two-bedroom setup with a king in the master and two queen beds in the other room, which was perfect for our family. The marina view with the balcony overlooking the pool and out toward the water was definitely a highlight. We spent a lot of time just enjoying that view. There were a couple events going on during our stay, but it never got too noisy or overcrowded. We still had easy access to the pool and everything else without any issues. Overall, easy 5 stars for me. One of the better places we’ve stayed at in a while, and I would definitely come back and recommend it. The property is spacious and provides two hotels (Harbor and Beach), several pools, a beach area, bike rental, restaurant, and plenty of parking. There is a full service marina and access to the aircraft carrier Yorktown (fee). The views of the harbor are amazing! I am a local and was enjoying a short get away for a few days with a room on the Harbor side. The hotel is well kept and the staff was attentive and friendly. I enjoyed my time being a tourist and had a totally "chillaxin" time. Would highly recommend for visitors to Charleston wanting to experience a variety of options in the area. (1,001 reviews) The resort was lovely for the most part. The grounds and the common spaces were beautiful and well-kept. They were all peaceful and family-friendly. There are multiple pools (only one is heated) and the beach/ocean is only a short walk away. Our room was nice and had everything we needed. Unfortunately, housekeeping lacked a little to be desired (we watched the same piles of sand and debris on the bathroom floor stay put there our entire stay). One day we even had to call close to 5:00 to see if housekeeping was planning on coming. The resort boasts several restaurants but not all were family friendly. We ate off-resort for the majority of our stay since we were tired of pizza. A couple last things we will mention for those looking to stay… beware of the resort fees that are charged every day and then are also taxed. Ours were right under $100/day. They also tell you that you need to valet your car with them ($35/day I believe). You are able to self-park if you so desire. We decided that next time we visit the area, we will VRBO as the resort didn’t offer all that much for the prices that they asked.
