Villa Pomalo is a newly renovated three double bedroom villa that also has an additional loft bedroom. It has four full bathrooms (I tub and three showers) a fully fitted kitchen with dining area, lounge with flat screen TV and seating area. It has a private garden with swimming pool, BBQ area, pergola area with table and seating and a separate terrace area, it has private parking for three cars. It is idyllically situated just two minutes’ walk from the beautiful Zaton harbour with its marina and swimming area, and five minutes’ walk to the nearest beach. The harbour also has an abundance of excellent restaurants, a supermarket, post office, and a bus stop with buses into Dubrovnik and Lapad. Whilst only an approximate 20 minute drive to Dubrovnik and Lapad Zaton is peaceful and serene, away from the hustle and bustle in town. You can relax or take scenic walks through the pine forest to inaccessible beaches and wonderful cliff top views over the bay to Lapad and the many islands. Zaton is located within an approximate 35-minute drive to Dubrovnik airport, it is easy to get to and has accommodation and a location that are ideal for families and children. Zaton is situated in a beautiful, natural bay surrounded by hills and only 8 kilometers northwest of Dubrovnik. This place can be reached by car or by boat only. It consists of two smaller villages/bays Veliki and Mali Zaton (Big Zaton and Small Zaton). Rich middle-class families living in Dubrovnik during the Ragusa Republic in the 15th century were already building their holiday or weekend houses in Zaton in the Renaissance style.In Zaton itself, there are a few small shops, a tourist information center, a couple of excellent seafood restaurants, bars, cafés, bakeries, and a post office. These 2 bays have several small, pebbled beaches. Zaton is a beautiful location, with lots of different restaurants and pristine sea water for swimming. It is a great location in terms of being away from the really overcrowded Dubrovnik but close enough to do a day trip there. You need a car if staying longer than a week as there is limited things to do once you have done the boat trips (worth doing 3 Islands). Lovely property, just a few metres from the seafront, restaurants, bars and local shops. Set in a beautiful bay, but only about 5 miles from Dubrovnik. It was ideal for our party of seven, including our three year old grandson, who would have happily have spent the whole week in the pool. For us it was a mix of staying locally in Zaton, combined with trips to Dubrovnik, Mostar and the Kravica Waterfall in Bosnia and a boat trip to the island of Lopud. I was pleasantly surprised about the location of the house: just around the corner, just a few stepts from the house, you find the see! and some nice restaurants (which were not all open yet, as we were there in the beginning of May before the real start of the season), a beach (with pebbles). The see is amazingly blue, and all those fishes! with a nice 20 minute walk along the sea, you will find a supermarket. The pool was small, but therefor also not cold, and more then enough for our kids. The house was spacious for our company of 8 (of which 2 kids). Lots of things to do in the surroundings (Dubrovnik, renting a boat, visiting Bosnia (go to se ethe waterfalls!!) and Montenegro). we really enjoyed our stay. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Everything was perfect. The location is ideal, right by the sea with a handful of restaurants and a bakery within walking distance. The outside space was beautiful, we loved the pool, the BBQ and the outside dining area. The garden is surrounded by lush plants and flowers and there is enough space to park a car. The bedrooms were clean and tidy and comfortable. Two have balcony’s with lovely views of the area. We very much appreciated that they were all air conditioned on especially hot days. We were supplied with enough clean towels for our 5 day stay. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a little supermarket 5min walk away. We swam in the sea every day. It’s worth investing in jelly shoes because it’s quite rocky underfoot. The supermarket is quite limited so it’s worth bringing everything you need for the beach with you. From the moment we booked until we departed Martina and team were extremely friendly and responsive. The villa was exactly as advertised times 10! Zaton is a slice of peaceful heaven with amazing views and the beautiful Adriatic sea to swim in and just a little bit away from the hussle and bustle of Debrovnik. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Pomalo. The house was perfect for our family. The garden with The pool and fruit trees was lovely and swimming in The Ocean’s clear water just outside The House was The best feeling. Zaton veliki is a cute little town but we were there end of season so very quiet and many of The shops/restaurants were closed. The town is filled with cats and The House Also had a cat that was there all The time and a few visitors. Not everyone in our family was a fan of this. Kitchen was fully equipped but a good way to make coffee was missing. There was a machine for pods but we couldnt find pods at any supermarket. And there was a french Press but no grinder so only store bought grounded coffee which is too fine. Overall a Nice House and we would definetely come again.
