Looking for everything you need to unwind, plus easy access and no dirt roads? Ohana Ranch Roadside Inn is a fun family mid-century ranch style home with 3 uniquely themed bedrooms and 2 baths. It’s located in a very convenient central location within 5-15 minutes from all the attractions the High Desert has to offer: Joshua Tree National Park (9 miles), Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriets (7 miles), Black Rock Canyon Nature Center and High View Nature Loop Trail (4 miles), with restaurants, supermarkets and amazing vintage and boutique shopping all within 1-5 miles away. The sprawling desert yard is perfect for spending quality time outdoors sunning by the cowboy pool (in season), playing outdoor games like horseshoes, cornhole, giant jenga and ladderball, barbequing, stargazing by the firepit, or enjoying the stars from your private hot tub. Inside this mid-century home, you’ll find an eclectic mix of contemporary design, vintage finds, and classic pieces, which blend together to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Ohana Ranch sleeps 6 guests between 3 private bedrooms, each with its own fun theme and design. The UFO Alien bedroom has an interstellar theme fitting of the desert’s other-worldly feel with a queen size bed, TV and DVD library of sci-fi classics to scare you to sleep. The Happy Trails bedroom is a tribute to Pioneertown and a journey into the old wild west with classic cowboy décor and a comfy queen size bed. Enjoy a little aloha in the Big Island Suite, which features a vintage Hawaiian theme with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. The living room provides a bright airy space to savor indoor leisure time. On chilly desert days, build a fire in the wood burning fireplace, with the mountains in view through the large sliding glass doors to the backyard. Aliens are everywhere! Check the mailbox in the backyard. We loved all the activities available like horseshoes, ladder golf, fire pit plus more we didn't use. Inside we didn't have time for more than one DVD and we kept eyeing the interesting sounding games, too. The kitchen was well stocked with the needed pots, pans, utensils, etc. Everything was clean and well kept. The owner has a great eye for detail and a wry sense of humor. The selection of board games and movies were well curated and our young adult children really enjoyed playing those with us. We had planned to visit Joshua Tree Park for the second time in a month, but enjoyed hanging out at the house so much that we switched our plans and just did some short local hikes instead.
