Its comfortable clean rooms in an unoccupied house. That being said its secure warm and a great stay. Slept really well. The bathroom and shower where great. 10 min walk into town great quiet location. I had to contact owners as door code wasn't received. Set in a residential area, it’s a well-located base just a 15–20 minute stroll from the city’s main attractions. The interior was spotless, modern and well-equipped. Self check-in was easy, and communication via WhatsApp was smooth and efficient. The manager was responsive and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay — including arranging parking (on-street or off-street) and a late check-out that made our final day much easier. Well-run, thoughtful and great value. A Perfect Stay in the Heart of York – The Vanguard Residence It truly doesn’t get any better than The Vanguard Residence. Perfectly situated in the heart of York, this gem offers everything you could ask for — with the city's historic landmarks, charming streets, restaurants, and bars all just a short walk away. The accommodation itself is outstanding. The bed was exceptionally comfortable — one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in any hotel. The room featured modern, tasteful decor and came fully equipped with air conditioning, a coffee maker, and a fridge, making it both stylish and practical. Attention to detail and high standards are evident throughout the property. On-site parking was a huge plus, especially in such a central location. Ridiculous check in having to wait for self check in key pad to work (and being told by host to wait outside in a very seedy area for 3 minutes whilst the lock resets itself) I most certainly will not return and will not recommend to anyone in fact would go as far as letting people know how bad it is and definitely well over priced.
