"Hotel Takimoto has a very natural feel almost like you are staying in someone’s home. The circular fireplace is an excellent place to enjoy a drink before and after dinner and meet fellow guests. . The food was all delicious and varied. The ski rental shop on site is professional and helpful. The guests are a mix of Japanese and western travelers. The scenery is spectacular. "

"The gentleman who runs the place is very nice and accommodating. There was hot water and tea waiting for us in our room, which was a delicious, unexpected treat. The bathroom / shower are small, but were clean and served their purposes. The women’s onsen was very relaxing and much needed after a day at the Snow Monkey Park. My family and I enjoyed our stay. "

"Was a great stay at this great little inn. It may be a bit different than what most western guest expect to find, but I went for the Ryokan experience and was not disappointed. Staff were really great, helpful in scheduling transport to the monkey park and to the train station. Room was clean, good size, and had everything I needed. The town itself is a cute little village and it was a great experience going to all 9 baths in the town. The baths themselves could use a bit more attention... some were in need of a good cleaning. But regardless it was a unique and fun experience to walk around town in a Yakuta and hop from bath to bath. Make sure to get your souvenir towel stamped at each one! "

The staff at this hotel were incredibly kind and accommodating to our needs from baggage storage, to help with sending our luggage on to our next destination.
