Sunny Bank Lodge is a stunning modern woodland lodge situated in a quiet location of Skiptory Howe, White Cross Bay Holiday Park in the idyllic Lake District National Park. Both the lake and marina are just a short walk away. This new (2019) spacious and eye catching lodge offers contemporary styled accommodation with everything you would expect and need for a comfortable stay. The lodge will sleep up to 8 guests offering 2 double bedrooms, twin bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living space making it ideal for both families and couples alike, also a travel cot is available on request. The lodge boasts substantial outdoor living space on the front and side decking for al fresco dining or simply a place to unwind. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing break at any time of the year. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful — spacious, luxurious, and finished to such a high standard. The photos really don’t do it justice. It feels even more impressive in person.Everything was spotless, cosy, and perfectly set up for a relaxing family stay. We had grandparents, parents, and a child with us, and it suited everyone perfectly.Communication with the owner was brilliant from start to finish. All the information was clear, simple, and easy to follow, which made the whole experience completely stress‑free.We’ve stayed in the Lakes many times, but this lodge is truly something special. The lodge is lovely, was clean and ideal to have the 3 en-suite bathrooms.Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side so we didn’t get much use of the deck area but would’ve been lovely had the sun come out. One of the showers kept dripping but it didn’t bother us as the sound of the rain drowned it out and when you closed the door to the bathroom we didn’t hear it. There were no urgent issues to be resolved. The amenities are great for kids and location is great for visiting nearby Windermere and Ambleside. The Marina is nice but you can’t swim in it.Guests can only use the pool facilities at set times in the afternoon which unfortunately didn’t suit since we were out at the times it was available. It was handy to have the restaurant on site and be able to get take away from there delivered to the lodge too.I’d definitely recommend staying especially for families as there’s enough to keep kids entertained and quiet enough for the adults to enjoy some peace too! Nearby Brockhole on Windermere is fantastic for a day out - lots for the kids to do, boat hire, tree top fun, archery, swimming in the lake - we visited on our last day after checking out when the sun finally came out and wished we could’ve had another full day to make the most of that especially as it was only a 10-15 min walk from the holiday park. ##### Holly U. Comfortable beds and lovely shower rooms. We had one slight problem on out first day but sorted by the host in less than half an hour. Decorated to a high standard and everything you need is there. Louise was brilliant and it’s a credit to her. She is very good at communicating quickly so you’re not waiting long for any queries to be answered. Its location is about 2 min walk from the reception/pub/ shop/ play area and swimming pool so you’re not going to get lost. The introductions given were easy to follow when checking in so there will be no problems. Sadly we had rain almost every day but we still got out and about and the site is a few miles drive to Windermere where there is lots to do for all ages. The decking area loops round the lodge so you’d be getting the sun most of the day (if you’re lucky with the weather) and there are three different seating areas to relax in. Highly recommend a stay here and you will not regret it. We will certainly be back and we traveled from Northern Ireland. Worth the 12 hour round trip!! ##### Pauline M. Fantastic location, the lodge was great for all ages. It is pretty big & has a great outdoor area too. Really relaxing and quiet on the holiday park also. We ended up using the pool which is on site which was great, you can book it in hourly slots at reception. Also used the courts & the park which was great for a 1 year old and 9 year old. This place would also be great for just adults too! Close to walk to the boats & close drive to Windermere & Ambleside.
