We travelled to Hamilton Island for my daughters Wedding which was on the 4th April. The views from the balcony were stunning as was my daughter's wedding pictures that were taken in the house and on the balcony. It was very clean, loads of room especially for large families like ours, Netflix was great for the rainy friday we all spent at home, bright and airy and just that nice distance away from the hustle and bustle of the Island. Having its own buggy was great to get around. The pool was fabulous. Cooinda Gardens will always have a special place in our hearts as it was the place my daughter left as a Bride. The service from the team at Hamilton Island Holiday Apartments was fantastic as I had to call them a couple of times, not for anything house related, just a couple of questions I had. I would have no hesitation in booking Cooinda Gardens 5 again or recommending it to family and friends. ##### Samantha K. Great property for a group of people although the young people staying downstairs complained about the excessive noise when people were walking around upstairs. The views were amazing and the living area spacious. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped but would be good to have some basics included such as salt, pepper and additional dishwasher tablets etc. The buggy was sluggish at times but we were thankful to have use of it given we were so far away from the restaurants. Rooms are spacious. The kitchen is fearly well equipped but no big serving bowls. Also, it would have been nice if there were basic consumables like enough dishwashing liquid and tea towels, some foil, baking paper, salt, pepper, etc. It is very inconvenient to shop for those basics if you are on a holiday. Grandparents, kids and partners, kids. Overall a really nice stay, supported by good pick up and drop off service. The property is airy, well positioned at end of group, with excellent easterly views. Clean and well equipped (mainly) It is at the North end of the island, well away from restaurants. So it is well suited to family groups who cook (and the IGA is very good). Unfortunately the kitchen while having excellent facilities let itself down with lacking crockery and other cooking essentials. I have communicated these to Pete the host and he has committed to action. To be blunt, the cleaning items and dishwashing tablets etc weren’t enough, there was only one baking tray (for a good 900mm oven), only 3 wine glasses, blunt knives. We encountered an BBQ empty gas bottle which ruined our first nights meal. Pete was very good and acted on what he could. The door to the main balcony was running metal to metal so it took a major effort to move. To be fair, these were annoyances - we had a great time and would happily stay there again. The cart supplied was ok but would only do 4 trips and back to the Marina before the battery light flashed. To get the whole house of 8 requires two trips so it does limit what you can do. I’ve advised Pete of this, you may wish to check on booking to see if it is improved. Being overtaken on hills when in the cart solo, by a family of 4 was an indication of an issue. ##### Bruce D. The apartment easily accommodated my wife & I, my parents, and my 2 adult children. The two decks (the views from the main deck were beautiful) and very large living area allowed my children a space to separate off from the rest of us when needed (organising their courses and text books for the next semester via the free wifi) but still within earshot to join us for lunch or when heading out somewhere. The gardens around the property and the pool were well maintained, enhancing our experience. The buggy was also very handy in getting out & about. Bedrooms (and beds) were comfortable and the access to the jack&jill bathrooms was also great as it allowed my parents to have a bathroom to themselves, while we had the ensuite. The only issues were that the oven didn't seal properly, but this was not a problem for us as our preference was either to eat out or cook on the barbecue provided, which leads me to the other issue which was there was nothing to clean the barbecue with. Other than these minor issues we had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Great property, strongly recommended. ##### Stephen T.
