(1913) Welcome to your perfect Cape Cod escape, located within the gated community of Great Island. This spacious contemporary home offers the rare combination of private beach access, a heated seasonal saltwater pool and hot tub, and plenty of room for the whole group including your dog with homeowner approval. Just over 300 yards from the private white-sand beaches on Nantucket Sound, the home provides the ideal balance of peaceful seaside relaxation and easy access to activities such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, fishing, and more (guests must bring their own equipment). A private community boat ramp is nearby, and you are just minutes from dining, shopping, golf, and family-friendly attractions along Route 28. Spanning approximately 2,500 square feet, this beautifully maintained home features central air conditioning, five bedrooms, and four full bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests. With two primary suites, the layout is ideal for a large groups traveling together. The first floor includes a primary suite with a king bed, TV, private en suite bath, and deck access; a queen bedroom with TV; a bedroom with two twin beds; a full bathroom with double vanity and tub/shower; a laundry room; and a cozy sitting area with TV and a queen sleeper sofa. The second floor features a large chef’s kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living space with TV, along with a second primary suite offering a king bed, TV, en suite bath, and deck access, an additional queen bedroom, and a full bathroom with shower. Step outside to the wrap-around deck on the upper level to enjoy outdoor dining and lounging while taking in the fresh ocean air. Outdoor amenities include a private heated saltwater pool and hot tub (seasonal), a large circular driveway with overnight parking for up to four vehicles (no street parking), and a basketball net. Beach gear is provided for your convenience. Great Island is one of the Mid-Cape’s most desirable gated communities, known for its privacy and natural beauty. Guests enjoy access to three private beaches, White Gate Beach and Whale Beach on Nantucket Sound, and Cove Beach on Lewis Bay, which is ideal for young children, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The home is also less than half a mile from Seagull Beach, one of Cape Cod’s most popular public beaches. In-season rentals run Saturday to Saturday, linens and bath and pool towels are included, and one dog may be considered on a case-by-case basis with homeowner approval. Lower level has 3 spacious bedrooms, including one with an en suite bathroom, and upstairs has a master and a study with a pullout. The house is on a large lot, so very private and quiet. We've stayed on great island several times before at different houses, and this was our preferred choice. We have a family of 6, and it was very comfortable. The hot tub was a nice treat, and when we had an issue with the chemical balance in the hot tub, the owner came out immediately to fix, followed by the hot tub maintenance person the next day. A pool in 2022 will be a huge plus!For those who haven't stayed in this community before, it's great. 24/7 manned entrance is really nice to have, and the area has a laid back feel with close proximity to a couple of key, private beaches along the ocean side of Yarmouth. The house is no more than an 8 minute walk to each, and you can walk 15 minutes to Seagull Beach as well. We all had a wonderful time there. It is a real joy to have so much room, so many bathrooms, and the kitchen was superb! One night we boiled up five 2-1/2 lb. lobsters using the stove's pot filler. Never have we been able to have our lobster nights with so much room to maneuver. Great Island is perhaps the best location I've ever stayed on the Cape, and I've been going there for more than 60 years. All the beaches are between 3 and 5 minutes easy walk from the house. We made friends with the few families we met on Whale Rd. beach (unfortunate weather this year, but we are all stalwarts!). Because there were only 2 or 3 real beach days, we didn't go to White Gate Beach or Cove beach, but we took many walks around there. It's too bad one can't walk or bike to the south end of Great Island as it's a private community, but we understand, and we loved the Great Island gated community we were in for its safety and serenity.We truly adored Great Island and, in particular, this beautiful and private home. The listing did say there was an ocean view, but there wasn’t one unfortunately.The location in the gated community was fabulous! Great access to 2 private beaches that were never crammed. The only suggestions I would make is a dehumidifier needs to be run on the bottom level. It is wet and damp down there. The beds would feel damp. Also, with kids and dogs, it would be nice to have some cheap stick-on carpet treads for the stairs.
