My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with a 2 week stay at the Nautilus Studio - Calabash. The tiny cottage was cute, clean and had every we needed for a relaxing, laid back stay. Internet connection was good and we enjoyed watching movies in the evenings on Netflix. It was such a beautiful quiet location right on the beach and steps from the ocean. It’s next to another larger cottage but feels fairly private due to the shade of the large Seagrape tree. On the other side is an empty lot with shrubs and brush. We cooked most of our own meals (or grabbed take-out from Heritage Kitchen) and ate on the deck while gazing at the ocean and listening to the waves! It was hard to pry ourselves away to go sightseeing or scuba diving …as the beach views and sunsets were so wonderful that we didn’t want to leave! We loved just hanging out on the deck. There is snorkelling right out front...and if you swim (or paddle board) even further out (towards the Kittiwake wreck) there is even more spectacular underwater scenery. We saw spotted eagle rays, turtles, and schools of colourful fish. The location is close to a large grocery store with everything you could need and was a short drive from some amazing shore diving sites. We met the owner and caretakers who live across the street. They were kind and helpful. This was our first visit to Grand Cayman and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. We definitely hope to return in the not too distant future! ##### Janice H. It is small but it was clean, efficient, and had everything we needed. The deck is wonderful... it has this amazing sea grape tree giving great shade, making the deck comfortable no matter what the temperature. The view is stunning... 180º view of the beautiful turquoise water which is literally steps away from the deck. The snorkeling was phenomenal. 150 yards out there you'll find an incredible variety of fish and coral. I saw so many different fish as well as a stingray, octopus, and 3 nurse sharks. The water was warm, calm, with incredible visibility. Best snorkeling I experienced on the whole island. Actually the best snorkeling experience I've ever had because of the ease of access, warmth of the water, variety of fish and creatures, and visibility. The VRBO is in West Bay which is at the northern end of the island and away from the cruise ships in Georgetown... it is quiet. It's also near some interesting areas like Macabuca, the turtle center, and of course, Hell. The property managers were accessible and extremely helpful with any directions or any assistance needed. They were a joy to talk with about the island and some of the history of the VRBO. The roosters, hens, and curly-tailed lizard were a bonus! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! ##### Jo D. You can easily snorkel right from “home” on a calm day. Even though it’s a small living space, all that you need is provided. There’s not a good sandy beach area in front of you, but the upside is not having people walking in “your space”. ##### Robyn E.
