« Plumbing was a challenge because couldn’t wash dishes without boiling water and didn’t want to wash ourselves or brush our teeth with the smelly water. Also, the propane only lasted 2 days; was dead on 3rd day (probably because of boiling water). We enjoyed the solitude, even though the road noise is present. All in all it was a pleasant couple days as we lucked out with beautiful weather. »

« This property was perfect for our visit back to Alfred. It’s very close to the village but far enough away that nighttime was quiet and peaceful, and the architecture of the space is one of a kind. Peter was a great host and I’d highly recommend this for anyone visiting Alfred. »

« This was exactly what we were looking for: privacy and access to nature. Cottage was well maintained and comfortable. We cooked most of our meals right in the kitchen and had to spend some time indoors due to rain, and it was no issue at all. There's some great outdoor spaces including a short trail up the hill across the road. Host was responsive to communication and the check-in/check-out process was easy. We are looking forward to coming back some day. »

« The house was perfect for our family weekend get-a-way! The views outside were just beautiful! Although the weather was rainy and cloudy most of the time, it didn’t stop the kids from fishing and paddle boating in the pond every day. We all had a great time and would definitely go back again and can only imagine how amazing it would be to see the stars on a clear night. »

« My family has stayed in this home twice. The home is beautiful and spacious enough for a group of 8. The kitchen has been upgraded but does lack some basic essentials. As the listing states the home is going through some renovations but there was little to no impact to us other than the hot water in one of the bathrooms was dripping and didn’t actually turn on. I emailed the property manager so hopefully it will be addressed before the next stay. »
