Don't wait to book this Lake Junaluska cottage! There is not a detail missed at the Bearcat Cottage! Many supplies are provided for your convenience so you can settle in right away whichever season it may be! This quintessential Lake Junaluska cottage is surrounded by trees, lush landscaping and singing birds to enjoy while you are on the screened in front porch. The cottage is part of the Lake Junaluska Assembly but far enough to be out of the congestion of the conference center and close enough for a nice stroll to the lake and activities. The updated kitchen has a 5-burner gas cooktop stove, built in oven, microwave, a nice quiet Bosch dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator, and a double sink with disposal. The well-appointed kitchen comes with all the supplies a novice, or a chef would need on vacation including full sized coffee pot, toaster, blender, chef and steak knives, a hand mixer, garlic press, zester, juicer, numerous pots, pans, bowls, a Dutch oven, cutting boards, and serving ware. In addition to the standard serving ware pictured, there are dishes/cups/cutlery for young children, and outdoor acrylic plates, and glassware for dining al fresco. Basic spices, hot cocoa, hot tea, coffee, coffee filters, foil, saran wrap, and other kitchen essentials are provided along with cloth napkins, placemats, dish towels, paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher detergent. The cozy living room is furnished with an antique hutch where you will find the 32" TV with Roku and sound bar for streaming your subscriptions, games, an echo dot, records and a Victrola record player with Bluetooth capabilities allowing you to play your own music or to throw on an old classic! There is large leather sofa with throw pillows and blankets, and a coffee table perfect for game night with the family. Or you may want to cozy up in the rocking chair next to the stone fireplace with a glass of wine reading one of the many books on the bookshelf- it's the perfect spot to unwind! A washer and dryer is located in the master bath and supplies are provided for your convenience during your stay. Each bathroom has a heater/fan exhaust, comes with a hair dryer, cotton balls, Q-tips, make-up wipes, toilet paper, soap, shampoo/conditioner, bath robes, slippers, and bath linens and Turkish pool towels during the summer months. Each bedroom in the cottage is equipped with a ceiling fan, luggage rack, and sound machine. The twin room has a toy bin, children's books, and a sleeping cot if there is a small kiddo pushing the occupancy to 5 max. Both bedrooms also come with an additional set of linens. There are AC units during summer months or space heaters and Rinnai furnace to keep it warm in the cooler months. If you want to enjoy the evening outside, there is a screened in front porch or an outdoor dining area with a charcoal grill and a fire pit where you can have a family Smore's night! Roasting sticks and fun colored flame packets that the kids will surely enjoy are just a couple of the extras. Guest have access to a charcoal grill (wood and charcoal available but not guaranteed). The kitchen is also stocked with outdoor dining plates/cups and a tray to carry everything out with ease. For your convenience as well, a cooler with wheels, Turkish pool towels, pool floats, and a wagon to carry your items on the short walk to the communal pool are all provided for your summer trips. For those who want to enjoy peace and quiet on the lake, two kayaks are available during the summer season at no additional cost! (This is $30/hr savings! Guest must transport to lake.) This home is perfect for two couples or a small family with the bedrooms being separate from each other and two bathrooms. Plus, the proximity to local attractions whether you are headed to the Lake Junaluska Conference Center, Pool and Tennis Courts, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Western Carolina University, or you want to venture to the Biltmore in Asheville, everything is just a stone's throw away. It's a perfect escape to the Western Carolina mountains! For extended stays greater than 2 weeks, inquire for discounted rates. This house is located in the nice, quiet Lake Junaluska neighborhood and it's an easy 5 to 10 minute drive to grocery stores, department stores and restaurants in Waynesville NC. Great location. The place has a really cozy feeling, with a perfect mix of antique furniture and modern conveniences. The host was wonderful and it was well stocked with just about everything you could need. Just bring a suitcase and some food and you are all set. We stayed in October and the weather was cool, but not really cold. Not sure how well the heat works in very cold temperatures. Also, as with a lot of rentals, the mattresses leave something to be desired. Overall, we had a very good experience and the location is absolutely perfect for getting away without being too out of the way. ##### David B. We were new to the area and utilized the detailed binder with restaurant menus and travel brochures that were provided. We were able to cook meals with ease, since the kitchen was well stocked and everything was in excellent condition. The house was spotless, cute and provided plenty of space for us to relax. Nestled in the heart of Waynesville, N.C., and a stones throw from Lake Junaluska, the home was adorable and conveniently located, but also tucked away for a quiet refuge of peace and restoration the mountains provide! The cottage is spacious, adorable and thoughtfully decorated throughout with everything you need to make your stay perfect! Well-stocked kitchen, with a few surprises like a record player for winding down, games for families, an adorable porch, fire pit for an evening by the fire, linens, robes, and so much more! The cottage was super clean and the check-in and check-out procedures were super simple, and quick, to also support and enjoyable experience.
