No heat. Had to call and get an electric heater because the boiler was off. First night it was 58 degrees in the room.

The Mat-Su Resort is a great spot to explore the valley. Centrally located, rooms were of good size and comfortable amenities. The attached restaurant offered quality meal options, parking was easy, and the views were breathtaking! Kitchenette amenities could be improved to support those choosing to have food options in the room.

The lake view was outstanding! Food quality at Everett’s was also very good - rooms are quite large, LOVED the private balcony - and the mattress and bedding were among the most comfortable we’ve had in any resort stay EVER!! Overall, we would definitely stay here again winter or summer… walk to the restaurant from rooms was a tad precarious when iced over, and we had to buy a stopper for the bathtub — no other improvements we would suggest for this wonderfully affordable and lovely place!!

I'm not sure I'd call this place a "resort" but the room was comfortable and the view was pretty. The check-in was a little confusing because we didn't realize that the hostess counter in the restaurant was also the hotel check-in.

The view from the room is spectacular. The mattress on the bed very comfortable. Frame just a tad tall from floor. Room is spacious. Restaurant is amazing food. Decor is pleasant. The bathroom was the challenge. Door to shower/toilet was very dirty. Bathroom very small and in need of upgrading. Shower head is tall but not adjustable. Made rinsing off a challenge. I really like this place but options are limited in the area. People from restaurant had parked in room areas so I had to repark later after diners left. It is posted so not much that staff could do about it. Thermostat in room didn't seem to work but options of portable fan or heater available in room.

First time staying here. Great place good food at the restaurant on site. Staff was great. Clean and the views of the lake and mountains in the background are amazing.

We liked everything about this property, but I stay was flawed by a barking dog, supposedly belonging to the owner, that was tied up in a storage facility located right next to our room. After a couple of hours of this I called the desk and they removed the dog. But, who chains up a dog right next to your room? The restaurant is fantastic.

Great Experience
Staff, including wait staff at the restaurant Everett's, was the nicest people I've ever interacted with. The room was very clean, nice, and vibrant. Only downside was the walls were a little thin; the room above us was occupied and their floor was squeaky and we could easily here every step they took. Luckily they weren't loud guests, just normal walking around, otherwise it would have been very disruptive.

Unpleasant experience
You double booked my room and I had no room to stay in. All hotels in the area were booked. I had to ravel 45 mins away from Wasilla to find a hotel.

Beautiful room facing the lake, clean, comfortable, the bed was one of the best I've ever slept on, the pillows another 5 star. However the check in was a little frustrating... Marked but not well.

Beautiful location on Wasilla Lake! Large, clean room with comfy bed and nice kitchenette. Door to the lakeside with a small table and chairs for enjoying the view with a cocktail. A bit more than an hour before checkout time on our last morning I heard a knock on our door and before I could even walk to the door, housekeeping lady opened our door and asked when we were checking out!! What if we were still sleeping or changing etc??!! Found that VERY rude!

It was on a beautiful lake. This was the loudest property I have ever stayed at. We stayed 8 days and I didn't get a single night of decent sleep. The restaurant is nice. The room service is close to non-existent. They left our patio door unlocked one day. After letting them know and asking they ensure it gets locked, the housekeeper said the doors usually are broken and can't lock. Not the case. The front desk was helpful, but this is not a upscale property.

Everything was wonderful, but the room we stayed in smelled like a smoker's room, even though it was a non-smoking room. It was hard to sleep comfortably because the smell was so strong and our clothes ended up stinking too.

Beautiful property and view. Problem was we were given the keys that didn't work (twice) then a gentleman came to the door to find out what was going on. I apologized and went back a 3rd time and they looked again and said OH we gave you the wrong room! Hence why the keys didn't work. Finally got to an open room!

The views from every room are amazing! Decore was nice, beautiful 3d wooden wall decore was impressive. My only complaint was there was no room service even though the restaurant is attached.

Location can not be beat. Convenient to everything but feels quiet and secluded. Views are amazing. Only complaint is about the gate which staff uses. It needs the hinges oiled or something. If you stay in end unit it can be very loud. But, I will stay here again!
