The Space: Live like a well-situated local in our Bloomingdale apartment. We can comfortably sleep 4 guests by use of the queen sized bed in the bedroom, and the queen pull-out sofa bed in the living space. Guests will have free wifi, 2 large SmartTVs offering streaming, (allowing continued binge watching of their favorite shows from their favorite apps), and a cute and super functional desk space for those coming to DC for work. Besides the amazing location, guests will have all essentials at their fingertips. There is a spacious and very well stocked kitchen (complete with a cocktail station, keurig, and more) and creature comforts like a dehumidifier and air purifier. Guests will find themselves in a bright, cozy space perfect for resting your head amidst sight-seeing and restaurant hopping! Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire apartment and your own entrance, it is not shared. There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life. The Neighborhood: Bloomingdale/Shaw neighborhood is a trendy neighborhood, popular with families and the younger DC crowd. It's residential, but has great access to downtown. If you want to stay in the neighborhood, stroll a few blocks down the magnificent tree-lined streets to find neighborhood favorites like Red Hen, Bacio Pizzeria, Big Bear Cafe, Showtime, The Royal, and so much more! Pop down to Yoga District for your daily workout, the (secret-shhh!) Crispus Attucks Park for a picnic or head over to Sylvan Cafe for coffee and a quick treat. The place is well maintain, eco-minded, and cozy. Questions were promptly answered, and had reached out to make sure everything was working properly or if we needed anything else. Be mindful of the parking signs, as there were two days we needed to have our car moved by 7:30 am to tree trimming. This was NOT the property managements fault, just wanting anyone parking their care to look at any signs. Parking near the unit was not difficult. The area is nice and parking is easy on the street with the online resident parking pass. My only issues is this is very much a basement apartment so very little natural light or fresh air. My only complaint is that we were required to empty and dispose of all the trash and recycling even though the cleaning crew was supposedly coming in right at checkout. WiFi was strong. I chose to stay farther from the conference center (about 1mi) than my colleagues. I walked a few times which was about 25 minutes and took an electric scooter the rest of the time. I was looking for a place to stay where my daughter could experience the feeling of living in a city. The apt was perfect experience for her. It was clean, new and a wonderful option vs a hotel. Every time we came or left a friendly neighbor was walking a dog. Having the apt allowed us to prepare food to fuel her during her day. Parking was easy which was a blessing.
