You\`ll have easy access to excellent food, entertainment, and shopping. The Shaw Metro Stop is less than a 12-minute walk away, and the Convention Center is just a 5-minute car ride. DC is also very biker-friendly, and several Capital Bikeshare stations are nearby. Lyft and Uber are readily available throughout DC. Here\`s some info on getting here: If you\`re flying into DCA, taking the Yellow Metro line straight to Shaw Metro Station or a taxi/Uber/Lyft is the easiest option during rush hours. If you arrive at IAD or BWI, a taxi/Uber/Lyft is the best way to reach our home. If you\`re coming by bus or train, you can take the Red Metro line to Gallery Place/Chinatown and transfer to the Green/Yellow Metro line to Shaw Station. The street across from our home (on 3rd St) does not require a visitor permit; all street parking is first come, first serve. All other nearby street parking has a 2-hour limit during the day on weekdays or is for residents only. The nearby Giant supermarket has a public underground garage for about $30/business day. Independent third-party parking spots may also be available on the SpotHero app. We\`ll provide additional parking information before check-in. • This is our primary home. We\`ve locked some rooms, doors, and drawers to keep our personal belongings secure, but the rest of the house is all yours to enjoy! • If you\`re traveling with little ones and need baby gates for the stairs, just give us a heads up at least 7 days in advance and we\`ll be happy to provide them. • We take great pride in keeping our home sparkling clean, and we appreciate your help in maintaining that standard during your stay. The decor is beautiful and the hosts are terrific and so accomodating. Since the two units can be closed off our one son and his family could spend time alone and their 1 yr old could nap away from the noise upstairs. With 2 kitchens we were able to prepare and host all 4 of our sons and familes (kids ages 6; 15 months; 1 and 7 months) for Thanksgiving dinner. The location is great as well with a metro stop closeby and lots of resturaunts as well. It is a well deserved 5 Star!!!! Great property in the Shaw neighborhood. Main issue was ADA accessibility of property. There are LOTS of stairs for those with mobility issues. Stairs to enter property and stairs to go to any bedroom. It would be helpful to have clearly stated that although this property is in a great central location, it is not for the elderly, canes, crutches, or any other mobility issue. There are no bedrooms nor full baths on any main level. ##### Hayes L. Though central, the house was quiet and had a neighbourly feel, close to restaurants and the Washington Convention centre where we were attending a conference.
