Maple hardwood floors, Persian rugs, fireplace and a wood stove. One large living/dining room/ granite countertop kitchen/ 2 open sleeping lofts each with queen size beds, plus additional queen-size pullout sleep sofa. Newly renovated bathroom/ shower/ washer/ dryer. Separate studio work space with high speed internet. The cabin is a short drive to both Mad River and Sugarbush Ski areas The cabin is a quintessential log home with added ambiance of Persian carpets, a library stocked with novels and coffee table books, and a comfy place to curl up in front of a fire to read and relax. There is a trail on the property that leads up into the Green Mountain National Forest and the Breadloaf wilderness and past a waterfall. Swimming holes are along the route. Great for walking the dog, or a snowshoe in the winter. Stetson Hollow is right off Route 100, so it is easily accessible even in the winter. Warren Falls is a mile and a half north of the cabin, and Moss Glen Falls is a couple of miles south. Warren Village is a quintessential Vermont enclave with shops, a charming country store and a Relais Chateaux hotel: The Pitcher Inn. The area has beautiful places for country walks and nearby is the 4-season resort Sugarbush as well as Mad River Glen Ski area. There are two great X-country ski areas in Warren: Ole's and Blueberry Lake. A manual in the cabin tells all there is to do in Warren and the surrounding area of the Mad River Valley. The cabin feels remote, but it is easy to find. Every detail is so well curated that it would be wonderful to live there! The hosts were lovely and excellent communicators. Left us a welcoming note, as well as Vermont-made goodies: cheese, crackers and chocolates.The stone fireplace is the star of the show! There were stacks of dry wood on the porch, fireplace tools and a well drawing chimney. Right across from the cabin is a babbling(rushing while we were there) brook, with chairs to sit to enjoy. There are many books available for times when we were ready to cozy up in front of the fire. Wish we could have stayed longer! ##### shari s. The trail behind the main property house was so beautiful and peaceful, we walked it everyday with our pup. Honestly, Vermont is so beautiful everywhere you look and we made good use of our surroundings. The cabin is really well situated close to places to visit without having to drive far and the local food was excellent. Jill was a pleasure to communicate with and a great resource for where the locals like to go. I took one star off for overall experience but that was on me since I didn't pay enough attention to the listing that showed the access ladders for the loft bedrooms. Charming log-cabin decor with two comfortable beds in lofts. You can look out the skylights to the trees (and the stars) while lying in bed. The fireplace and wood stove are huge bonuses, and Jill and John keep it stocked with everything you need to build a fire. There's no television, which we saw as a huge bonus, and there is good wi-fi. It's a quick and easy 10-minute drive to the Sugarbush main base area. We enjoyed building a cozy fire on a snowy night close to Sugarbush Mountain after a long day of traveling. The cabin was just as expected, clean and comfortable with an easy check in/out process. Such a great cozy mountain cabin with a beautiful stone fireplace well stocked with plenty of dry wood and kindling- all that’s needed for the perfect après-ski setting. Add a glass of wine to the host-provided Vermont cheese and crackers and you’re set for the evening. Initially concerned that the cabin was right on Rte 100 but very quiet and peaceful. Never heard any road noise. The two loft bedrooms are comfortable and functional accessed by ladder. Not a place for those with mobility issues.Host was attentive and check-in/check out a breeze.
