Pets welcome. Local restaurant & convenient store 1 min. away. Close to many tourist destinations- Hanging Rock, Winston Salem, Pilot Mt. Belews Creek power station. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Our place has of the feel of "getting away", but being in close proximity to town/city life. We are located on Town Fork Creek and it is a beautiful place to just hang out & get your feet wet, or nature watch. Queen bed, kitchenette with sink and essentials, sofa, smart TV, full bath, covered porch. Relax by the creek or enjoy nature walks. Watch the occasional deer & other wildlife. It is a few miles from Winston Salem and close to several area attractions. Also close to several restaurants in Walnut Cove. Try the Olympic Restaurant, you won't be disappointed. I wanted to relax and read, undisturbed, and this place was better than I had hoped. The unit was clean very comfortable. It’s not a cabin (it’s not rustic at all) it’s a “tiny house” of clean contemporary decor and the amenities…just shrunk. The house is right next to the owner’s house, which was a little concerning when I first pulled up, but I never heard any one and only saw the owners on a couple occasions. The property is quite large, approximately 300 yds to the stream in the back which is where I spent every day. There was a hammock and camp chairs, a large tin roof covered area (with a bench swing) where i ducked under when some rain squalls moved through the area on a couple days. The sound of the stream and the birds was all I could hear with the pleasant exception of a few minutes of heavy rain in a metal roof. Plenty of room for the dogs to stretch thier legs and play in the ponds and creek. The fenced porch for the dogs to dry off on was perfect. It was a short trip over to Mayo River State Park. It wasnt crowded and it was beautiful. We slept great, the cabin was warm, tv was easy to operate, and everything was well stocked. But how do you capture on film the experience of country life? Imagine the front porch swing, chickens in the pen, goats playing, huge gentle farm dogs coming to say hello, a country road walk to the babbling creek, hosts checking to make sure you’re comfortable, fresh eggs as a gift, and cozy well decorated accommodations for two. The property is BEAUTIFUL, and a walk down by the creek was a great way to stretch our legs after the drive down. (Honestly, we wish we had planned a little more time in our stay to simply enjoy some time down by the creek.) The cottage itself was the perfect size for 2 people. The bed was comfortable, the furnishings were cozy and top quality, and the phone pocket on the sheets was a pleasant surprise (blew my husband's mind). Location is convenient to Hanging Rock and Winston-Salem, and we even popped over to Greensboro to meet a friend for dinner, but that was a bit longer of a drive. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and taking in the sounds of nature. The farm animals were also very friendly as well as the owners. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a country aesthetic. Will definitely stay here again! ##### Catherine A.
