This delightful, whimsical, and recently updated Waldport vacation home will awaken your senses with its one of a kind collection of mermaid and nautical displays. Boasting new flooring throughout, an adorable children's nook, and a selection of fun games, this dog-friendly rental is ideal for large families or groups of friends traveling together. Located in the Sandpiper neighborhood of Waldport, you're only a short two block walk to an incredible beach! The living room has a comfortable sectional sofa, a flatscreen TV, and a media library. The walls display unique mermaid and ocean themed art, so there's always something interesting to catch your eye. A fully equipped, eat-in kitchen will delight the designated cook, and formal dinnerware will set a lovely table for family gatherings. Just outside the kitchen, through sliding glass doors, you'll find plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy dinners along with colorful sunsets. An outdoor fireplace provides the perfect focal point to gather around on chilly nights and enjoy the salty, fresh ocean air. For a quick warm up, there is also a hot tub on the back deck! One bedroom with a queen bed can be found downstairs, as well as a full bathroom with a shower. The additional two bedrooms plus sleeping nooks are located upstairs, so the downstairs room is a good choice for anyone that wants a bit more privacy or guests with limited mobility. Please be aware that the sleeping nooks are pass-through rooms that are accessible from another room, so this setup might be best for families with children. On the second level, the sleeping nooks have two twin beds and full-size bed and more unique wall art. The spacious primary bedroom has a full size bed with an eye-popping mermaid sculpture hanging over the bed, as well as a lovely ocean view from the window. A full bathroom on this level features a claw foot tub and there is a half bath at the bottom of the stairs for everyone's convenience. With a total of three bedrooms and two sofabeds (recommended for children or smaller adults), your group of up to 10 guests will enjoy the many amenities offered at this home. Also available are a washer and dryer, as well as complimentary internet access, and the family dogs are also welcome here for a nightly fee. Upstairs, you'll also find a comfortable sitting room with telescopes and binoculars for whale watching during the day or stargazing on clear nights. On rainy days, from here you'll be able to enjoy ocean views without getting wet. Not raining? The adjoining balcony is a great place to hang out any time of day, or view an evening sunset over the water while enjoying a glass of wine. There are beach chairs included as well. Pack a lunch and spend a day on the beach - and if you forget something, it's just a short, two block walk back to your home. The town of Waldport is a quiet fishing village that boasts a pristine stretch of sand for beachcombing or just relaxing with a good book. The nearby Alsea River is a local favorite for fishing, crabbing, and even kayaking. And if you don't feel like cooking, dining options in town include the Azul Mexican restaurant, Carol's Cafe for hearty breakfasts and the Flounder Inn Tavern for dinner and drinks. For an easy day trip, the bustling town of Newport is only 15 miles north, and with attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium, a lively bayfront downtown, and Rogue Brewery, Newport is a great destination, rain or shine. An equal distance to the south lies Yachats where you will find small shops, cafes, and more of that gorgeous Oregon coastline. This whimsical Waldport vacation home definitely has it all - ocean views, a unique interior, and a great location for exploring the best of the central Oregon coast! Tub was disgusting. BEDS are horrible, all of them everyone got bad sleep every night, no supports the frames all sag. Lots of outlets especially in upstairs master half of each outlet was dead. Smart Tv downstairs can’t connect to apps, why 4 remotes for one system, get 1 universal and make it easier on your guests. Upstairs slider barely opens only the men could open it, women and the teens couldn’t it’s so bad, downstairs is rough too but not as bad. Shower downstairs was so small for no reason, the bathroom is much taller it makes no sense. The dishwasher wasn’t cleaning dishes we had to rewash every time. The upstairs balcony is weak and wobbly, no one felt comfortable using it which is a shame as it was a great view. The two bonus rooms upstairs are a little misleading, they look small in photos, one is small and fine was great for kids, the other was literally a big closet with a bed and end table in it, took up every inch of space, is not a room. Place needs some TLC, paint and plaster peeling in spots. Pros: Big space for guests. Close to the beach. Great view. Hot tub was great but would not turn down no matter what, it’s stuck at hottest temp. Location, neighborhood are great. Great movie selection and games, huge kitchen/dining great for families. Lots of tvs. Complimentary hygiene and lots of towels/blankets. Updates and would stay again, without and no def not! ##### Joshua E. You can see the ocean from every window on the top floor of the home and if you open the windows you can hear the ocean as well! That being said there were issues with the oven (coils being held up by the top rack which is both extremely unsafe and makes the oven hard to use), the hot tub (had a leak), and the upper deck door (almost impossible to open). We called Vacasa and got an answer but they didn’t send anyone out to address the issues while we were there, despite the oven issue being a genuine safety concern.This property has amazing proximity to the beach and we loved that. The community it’s located in is really lovely. We enjoyed our stay overall, but it was not without issues. ##### Megan F. We needed extra room so we rented the Mermaids Lair. We really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed all the mermaids.The neighborhood was amazing so quiet and so close to the beach. It was wonderful. Séjour de 4 nuits en mai 2025 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Joshua B. 17 avr. 2025 Points forts : Propreté #### Good house at great location The house was clean and had everything we needed, the only minor quibble is that heating is through in-wall heaters that have to be adjusted in each room, but a lot of older houses are like this so it wasn't a huge surpise.The group at Vacasa was great to work with, there was an issue with the hot tub and they got a repair person out while we were still there (although we didn't end up using it). One of our kids did knocked a door off the hinges and they were great when we communicated with them about the damage. It was just over a week and plenty of linens/towels and stuff. If you just love mermaids so, so much this is the place for you. If you don't love mermaids it's still great, just, you know, be prepared for the mermaids. ##### Joshua B. House itself needed updates. The master bed was horrible so we had to sleep in a different bed. The oven had issues with heating to temperature. Overall, cozy and comfortable with a cute mermaid theme. The house was quiet and not too close to neighbors. Best for families with young kids as there were only 2 real bedrooms, with 3 beds tucked into alcoves. Only one shower in 3 bathrooms. Hot tub was great!! ##### Rachel B. There were lots of ants no matter how hard we tried to keep our food out of their reach. Cleanliness was meh, clear that this place needs a deep clean and all of those blankets need a good wash.
