This cozy cabin offers just that—a relaxing escape tucked in the countryside, only 2 miles from the small, friendly town of Wadena. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to a loft with a queen-sized bed. The spiral staircase is a fun touch, but something to be mindful of, as it may not be suitable for very young children or older guests. The main floor includes a small bedroom with bunk beds and a full size sleeper sofa in the living room, making it ideal for families or small groups. Enjoy the convenience of a small kitchen equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, and glass stovetop and small dorm size fridge. The bathroom features tile flooring and a walk-in shower. Relax in the living room with a comfy couch, oversized chair, and a dining table for meals or games. Step outside to soak up the serene setting—there’s a spacious wrap-around deck and a set of stairs with a landing that takes you right to the lake. Guests can use the kayaks, rowboat, or canoe provided (life jackets required and included!). Please note: The spiral staircase requires caution. This is a self-check-in rental on a gravel road in a rural area—you may encounter local wildlife or the occasional bug. Your stay is designed to be self-sufficient, and you may be without host assistance during your visit. If you're looking for a fun, off-the-beaten-path experience with character and calm, this is your spot. Thanks for considering our little piece of country charm. \*\*\* The cabin is located near a small campground where you might see a few campers, mostly on weekends. If you have friends with RVs or campers, feel free to invite them to join you! Guests are welcome to enjoy the kayaks and rowboat provided, along with life jackets for safety. Please note: swimming in the lake is not allowed due to insurance restrictions. Fishing is catch-and-release only, and we ask that you use artificial bait to help protect the fish during release. There’s a $25 pet fee per stay. To make your stay more comfortable, don’t forget to bring any personal items you might want—like an extra blanket or your favorite pillow. I don’t provide heavy blankets by default since I can’t launder them between every guest, but I’m happy to offer them upon request. \*\*\* This is a self-check-in rental and is located on a gravel road, 2 miles from Wadena. Expect a rural setting with occasional wildlife or insects. If something doesn’t meet your expectations, I’d love the chance to make it right. We’re nature lovers & this fit the bill. It’s close to adorable little towns, all things nature, & we loved that we could take our two dogs. Andy was very helpful & friendly, the cabin was great, & we loved the views. The kids have even mentioned they miss cabin life a couple of times since we’ve been home. The only thing I’d recommend changing, on the VRBO site the description says there’s a hot tub with this cabin. Or that’s how I interpreted it. I’d remove that from the description. Andy has done an excellent job providing the comforts of cabin camping! This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we plan on coming back again! The air conditioning was a blessing in this heat and the cabin was perfect fit for two, but plenty of sleeping options to accommodate more people if necessary. The peace and quiet is what I appreciated most about this stay, as neighbors were respectful and a far enough distance away to not feel crowded. From out the back door, you simply need to walk down some stairs and you’re at the lake. It was fun to fish and had some good sized carp and bass in it that provided us with plenty of entertainment. To celebrate my husband's retirement, we sought a peaceful place with a pond to overlook. Because our stay was during week in September very few neighbors. This location was just what we desired.
