Bonne halte pour un tour au sri lanka
3ou4 corps de bâtiments et devant, un parc avec grande piscine puis la mer. C.est grand, c.est propre, c'est beau. Complètement excentre, mais comme on n'est pas loin de Colombo, il y a des mariages chaque jour. Ça ne nous a pas gêné car ça se passe de 8h a 16h. Bon buffet pour le petit déj et le dîner. A 19h, les perroquets débarquent des rizières. Ça discute sec avec démonstrations aériennes en escadrille. La nuit venue, silence radio. Tout ce petit monde dort. Ouf mais quand le jour se lève a 6h re belote. Heureusement les chambres sont insonorisées. Corneilles en bandes, nettement moins drôles. Bref bonne adresse.

Our 3rd time at The Blue Water and it never disappoints. Kushuni and Chamal deserve special mentions as they go above and beyond the service expected. We will be back as soon as we can. Thanks to The Blue Water Hotel again for making our visit to Sri Lanka an absolute pleasure .

Nice hotel but suites amenities missing
We opted for the Executive Suite, which was offered with some special services (special restaurant, lounge for drinks and happy hour), etc., that were not operating due to Covid. It’s a nice, comfortable hotel with professional, kind staff, but I would advice booking the basic rooms until they get things sorted.

Große Zimmer mit Balkon oder Terasse, bequeme Matratzen, großer Poolbereich mit kostenfreien Liegen, Auflagen, Schirmen und Handtüchern, sehr freundliches Personal, Hotel ist insgesamt in einem gepflegtem guten Zustand. Nicht gefallen hat mir: Das Hotel hat ein "Krähenproblem", sehr viele von diesen Vögeln im Garten verunreinigen Liegen und Sitzgelegenheiten, trinken am Pool, hinterlassen Federn und Ausscheidungen am Pool und der Geräuschpegel ist auch nicht zu unterschätzen. Nicht gefallen hat mir: Der Strand und das Meer sind nicht zu empfehlen. Sehr hohe Brandung mit Strömung (hängt evt. im September noch mit dem Monsun zusammen?), der Strand wird zwar von Treibgut befreit, weist aber an einigen Stellen dunkle Verfärbungen auf (Verschmutzung?) und vom Wasser her kommt ein muffiger Geruch. Leider hat Sri Lanka kein funktionierendes Abwassersystem und so landet alles in Flüssen und im Meer! Wer ohne Strand und Meer leben kann ist in diesem Hotel aber bestens aufgehoben.

Luxe hotel!
De accommodatie was erg goed, ontbijt ook! Alleen als je een taxi nodig hebt, kun je dit beter zelf regelen. De travel agent die ertussen zitten vraagt het dubbele. Zodat een deel naar de agent gaat, een deel naar hotel en een deel naar de chauffeur. Dit hebben we in andere hotels niet meegemaakt! Waarschijnlijk omdat dit een luxer hotel was en de prijzen daarom ook hoger. Ik gun liever een groter deel aan de het taxibedrijf/ chauffeur. Overigens voelt het ook een beetje ongemakkelijk doordat alles gedetecteerd wordt. Jezelf, taxi’s en tuktuk.

Perfect for relaxation.Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Wine a bit on the high side.We stayed in a club suite which had extras like free cocktails, butler service and use of the excutive lounge for teas ,coffees and fresh juice and soft drinks. Hotel was immaculate in all ways.

Stay away if you want to relax
Beware!! Don’t stay at this hotel if you want to relax and sit by the pool. This hotel has less than 100 sunloungers to accommodate over 250 guests. If you don’t get up early, or pay the pool attendant to reserve your sun lounger, you will receive a tatty bit of foam and a towel to sit on the floor until something becomes available. The pool is dirty and green unlike the crystal blue waters as shown. The rooms are dirty with lights falling out the ceiling and cockroaches on the floor. The club lounge access is a joke which is leftover food from breakfast

Dejligt hotel med fantastisk personale
Vi boede i en Club Suite og havde all inklusive. Vi var bestemt tilfredse med hotellet og følte os meget velkomne. Personalet gør meget for gæsterne og virker oprigtigt interesserede i, at vi får et godt ophold. Buffeten indeholder meget lokal mad, hvilket for os er et plus. De tilbød endda at lave mere vestlig mad til børnene. Poolen er stor og ren, stranden er bred og selvom bølgerne er relativt store, kunne vi sagtens bade med børnene.

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas and New Year 2018. My review is based on the expectations you might have for a 5 star hotel. The good: - very friendly staff. Very helpful - great location near the beach - breakfast and dinner are very good - a wonderful new year celebration - life music during dinner The bad: - bad starting point for excursions (long trips) - email conversation with the hotel did not work. Even phone calls were not answered - some sun beds are old and not working - matrices are old, damaged. Towels are dirty - worn furniture in the room - they have not been able to refill soap and shower dispenser within 2 days - our safe was not working for 3 days Some minor bad things: - our room was not ready in time - not all employees speak English - Club lounge access: only tea and cafe. Juices have to be ordered and will be served within 20 min (for free, but a member of the staff has to go to the restaurant to get them) Summary: According to European standards this is a 3-4 star hotel. If this is your expectation, you will have a great time. Value for money, however, needs to be discussed.

Smukt hotel på stranden - skræntende service
Virkelig smukt hotel som absolut er 5 stjerner værdigt. Vi havde bestilt en club suite som til fulde levede op til forventningerne. Derimod var serviceniveauet langt fra hvad man kan forvente af et 5 stjernet hotel. Sammenlignet med andre lande i østen er Sri Lanka meget langt bagud i forhold til begrebet service - og at personalet havde svært ved at tale engelsk gjorde ikke niveauet bedre.

Great but not perfect
We had a 4-days-stay at the Blue Water at the end of our 4-weeks travel throughout Sri Lanka. Overall, we would recommend The Blue Water as it's a beautiful and well-designed hotel with very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff, a wonderful pool area, a great view on the with palm trees lined beach (the sunsets were amazing!) - though we only rate it 4/5. Reasons: 1. Food was mediocre, especially the adaptions of European / Western dishes were not adequate. The local dishes were better, but had been way better (and a lot cheaper) almost everywhere else we've been to in Sri Lanka. 2. There are some places where the hotel is in need of renovations (e.g. balcony railing, bathrooms / toilets at ground floor). In fact, at the time of our stay there were a few construction sites. 3. There were a lot of ravens at the hotel / poolside, that seemed to be resident there and made quite some noise. There were a lot of squirrels too (which we would count as a pro as they were very entertaining). 4. Location in a larger scale: The beach was clean, but you could barely go into the water (winds, currents) just like at most beaches at Sri Lanka' s west coast. Wadduwa itself offers nothing worth to visit or spend time at. All the above reasons have to be regarded in relation to the quite high prices. Especially the food was a deal-breaker for us. In all honesty, we still would recommend The Blue Water to friends, but wouldn't stay there again ourselves but rather try something new.

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Food and beverage services at the restaurant were somewhat satisfactory; however, only a very few stand-outs in the buffet spread. Restaurant staff were swift. Bathroom cleanliness was an issue; when checked in, dirty, wet tissue was found in the dirty toothbrush holder; toilet seemed to have not been cleaned as it had toilet paper in it and was not flushed. The phone wreaked of musty odour that would not go away after house keeping cleaned it with alcohol. Balcony and balcony furniture were dirty. Overall, the property needs some attention. The adjacent beach is rather small and had dogs and cows roaming about. The dogs were on the property too. The pools were the highlight. Coconut trees on the property added to the resort feel. The live band during my one night stay was very good and enjoyable. Overall, poor value for the money.

The place was amazing! Food was divine! Great stay although they need to try not do loud construction or repairs in adjoining rooms where the guests occupy. But all on all it was a great holiday with the staff being as accommodating and helpful all the way. Great place to relax!

Very disppointing service
Spent 2 nights here with family recently. The room was clean and well-equipped with what we needed. Very comfy bed and had a great sleep. However the downside was the service, in particular the difference we observed from the point of check-in in how we were treated (as Sri Lankans) vs other foreign guests. We had to ask several times for simple things like tea and coffee at breakfast before we actually received it. Given the disappointing service (apart from a lovely waiter at the Seven Seas a la carte restaurant on our last night), we wouldn't recommend this hotel again and won't be visiting in the future.

Sorry , if any of my team-mate/s have behaved in this manner , but let me assure that the team at "The Blue Water" would never ever discriminate our own Sri Lankan guests as against any other nationality! We are truly grateful to our Sri Lankan guests ( most of whom are repeat visitors ) for keeping us going strong during the troubled days of our country ! Very enjoyable stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel put up a great Sinhala New Year celebration and the kids enjoyed this event. The only comment would be that the bathroom can do with a good scrub and clean.

A little disappointed with one aspect of our stay. I booked a Superior Deluxe Sea View room, but they didn't have one when I checked in. They upgraded us to a Club Suite, which was a bigger room, but the room was at the corner of the property and didn't have a Sea view.

Hotel for relaxing
Nice and relaxing with friendly staff. We stayed over new year for a week and the hotel was not over crowded so there was no scrum for sun beds etc... We had b&b and the breakfasts were very good. The gym staff are excellent and very helpful. I do think for a 4* the aminites such as communal toilets are not up to standard and a little more attention to the hotel feeling plush would certianly enhance the 4* experience that would further enhance the experience of this hotel.

リラックスできる空間
とてもリラックスできるホテルです。客室も清潔で快適でした。 今回は一泊だけですが、次はもっと長く滞在したいです。 海もホテルの敷地から出てすぐで、人もほとんどおらず快適に浜辺を散歩できます。 カラスがやたら多いのと、アクセスが悪いのが難点です。 あと、ホテルの周辺はほとんど何もありません。暗いのと、犬が吠えたりしていたので、あまり出歩かない方が良いです（ホテル内だけで快適に過ごせます）

Good facilities, but poor staff
We stayed only one night. The hotel has a spacious hotel and grass, and also exclusive beach in front of the hotel. The long stay is recommended and also family with children stay. The hotel designed by the famous Bawa has a space and wind flow, like Chinese Fusui. The flow of guest is not so considered, but well for wind flow. Facilities are excellent, but the attendance by the staff is poor and the food should be improved even though the appearance is well done. Facility of the hotel is very good, referring the price even though 5 stars. In Sri lanka the hotel price is controlled by the government specially in Colombo, very expensive for foreigners. This hotel is remote from Colombo and also doesn't have some touristic attractive around hotel. Then the price is very cheap as 5 star hotel, referring to the Galle area and southern coast around Matara district. To visit the touristic places in Galle and Matara(2hrs by car) and Colombo for business(1 hr), it is recommended to stay this hotel as base station.

Spent three nights at the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurants were great. I injured my foot before visiting the hotel, and the staff was ever so helpful to ensure my time there was comfortable.

Do not waste your money
Have been travelling in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Singapore. Also in the past Malaysia and Phuket. This hotel is completely overrated, V. expensive for the service provided. Staff has no idea how to look after guest. Hotel pool was under construction but the customers were not informed when booking, no apologies at the counter or later. All ponds are empty, can see only the dirty water. The hotel is hired to local banks etc for training purposes, during the break those guest sit on other guest who hire rooms. It was terrifying experience for my daughters. Beach ? what ? there is no beach, dirty never seen anything like that. Staff not even bothered. Locals outside the hotels too don't have much regards anymore. Don't waste your money and patients on this hotel. ex Sri Lankan now living in Sydney. thanks.

プールが改装中で残念だったが、広くて家族連れにおすすめ。 ビーチはプライベートビーチではないが、セキュリティがしっかりしてい安心して出れる。 プールに来ている時にお金をっ持ってるはずがないのに、部屋に付けてくれと頼むと、露骨に嫌な顔をして、現金で払ってくれると楽なんだと、部屋に取りに行かせようとするのは、一流ホテルの対応ではなかったり、従業員の対応は総じてあまりよくなかった印象です。豪華な設備やよい眺め、客室が快適なだけに、本当にもったいないです。 朝食ビッフェは期待ハズレでした、ルームサービスの料理もほどほどの味です。 それ以外は、ほとんど問題がないと思いますが、他に素晴らしいホテルがスリランカにはたくさんあるので、再訪したいとまでは思わせません。
