It has 2.5 baths, 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, a large living area, and a 4 person hot tub. We have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, hot tub, a nice back yard, and a back deck with a gas grill. The house is set in the native forest with giant Hapu‘u ferns, ‘o‘hia trees, and native birds all around. My wife and I moved here in 2006 with our kids, designed and built this house with other family. For the nest year we worked on the landscaping, and decorated it with local art and photography. The house has its own solar energy and filtered, drinkable catchment water. The house has a open floor plan downstairs and lots of windows to look out on the rainforest. It is a good layout for large groups or families as it facilitates connection, but also has private feeling bedrooms upstairs that have some separation from each other. The master bedroom has its own bathroom, and there is another full bathroom upstairs for the other two bedrooms. We have a laundry room with a washer and dryer, a smart TV with high speed wifi. The back deck gets sun and is a great place to drink coffee, eat, relax and grill. The hot tub is set in a private corner of the property in the rainforest and is a great place to unwind after a day of activity at Volcanoes National Park or somewhere else. We are a 5 minute drive to Volcanoes National Park and a 2 minute drive to Volcano Village. Volcano is a cute little town with a few restaurants, general stores, a community center, playground, and a nice farmers market on Sundays. Volcano is at 3500 feet in a high elevation tropical rainforest, so it is never too hot. The neighborhood also feels very safe and check in was very easy with the door code. This place is only 10 mins from volcano viewing which was so convenient. A few restaurants and a store close by. We loved the farmers market on Saturday. ##### Sara Q.
