The house is located on the trail Rigiweg and the Rigibahn, making a variety of excursions are possible. Only 5 minutes to Lake Lucerne, only 25 minutes to the Rigi. South-facing terrace with barbecue. The exposed location above Vitznau, in the agricultural zone, is car-free and can only be reached by the rack railway. Trains run approximately every hour in both directions. Accessibility to the cabin is dependent on Rigibahn since this is a car free village, therefore, please plan your daily excursions carefully unless you want to hike 3000 ft. in the middle of the night in pitch dark. We had to do it one evening due to missed trains and it was quite an experience. Lothar was an excellent host. The home was perfect for our family, including our 18 month old. We grilled, hiked, and explored Mt. Rigi everyday. We will definitely consider returning in the future! Our only suggestions are to upgrade the bedroom pillows, comforters, and shower head. Thanks Lothar! ##### Chris P. This was my first experience with HomeAway, I usually use that other website, and it was a wonderful trip. Lothar is an incredible host. We unfortunately arrived late, due to work, and Lothar met us and led us up the mountain to the house. It is IMPERATIVE to get there before the last train leaves the village because that hike up the mountain is intense. I do feel that Lothar adequately prepared us for the hike, and I am so thankful for him meeting us there to take us up. He is quick to respond to messages and he has a wealth of tourist information on things to see and do in the area. Lothar was so very welcoming, the place is in a great location, and the views are breathtaking! The pictures really don't do it justice. The views are truly priceless. Thank you, Lothar for allowing us to stay at your place! It made this birthday one that I'll never forget! I would definitely recommend staying at his place. ##### Diandra H.
