![A world of subterranean wonders, a milestone in geological discoveries, Luray caverns, is a wonderful weekend getaway for those who are living near DC or Virginia. It is around 2 hours (or more) drive from washington DC.
This is a picture of the "Dream Lake", a spring of water which has a mirror-like appearance. Stalactites are reflected in the water making them appear to be stalagmites. This gives an illusion that the lake is deeper. The lake is connected to a spring that continues deeper into the caverns.
All in all, it was my first time exploring caverns. It was a fun filled day, learning the stories of the cavern.

Tips: 
1) It is very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you want to enjoy peaceful, slow paced, less crowded tour of the caverns, go on weekdays.
2) If you visit the caverns, look for these things-
Saracen's tent - scarves and shawls of translucent calcite, falling in graceful folds, fringed with a thousand patterns, and so thin that a candle light can reveal the structure within!
The fried eggs formation - yes, it looks like fried eggs ;)
The Great Stalacpipe Organ - An actual organ which plays music- sounds of Stalactites! DO NOT miss this one!

"L’évaluation de cet hôtel s’avère complexe. Initialement, j’avais réservé une chambre en hauteur afin d’y séjourner avec mon chien d’assistance. Cependant, j’ai été attribué à une chambre située au deuxième étage, qui ne correspondait pas à ma réservation. Fort heureusement, le système de chauffage était défaillant. À 22 heures, j’ai été relogé dans une autre chambre, au même niveau, qui s’est avérée satisfaisante. Le petit-déjeuner était excellent et la salle de sport impeccable. Enfin, la réceptionniste m’a gracieusement déduit une journée de stationnement en guise de compensation. L’hôtel bénéficie d’une situation géographique idéale, à proximité immédiate d’une station de métro. "

"L hôtel est tres bien situé pour visiter Washington à un tarif raisonnable par rapport aux hotels du centre. Metro avec 2 lignes à 5 minutes à pied, et 6 a 8 stations des principaux monuments. L établissement est confortable, propre et dispose de lingeries. Le personnel a l accueil est tres avenant. Seul bémol le petit déjeuner avec un personnel peu sympathique. Et il est censé être possible jusqu'à 9h30, or à 9h10/9h15, il commence a être vidé !! "
