Our Cottage offers the following amenities: 3 Bedrooms, 2 full Bathrooms, Off- Street Parking, Pet Friendly, 65" Smart TV and High Speed Wi-Fi. And of course we are directly on the beach with a large deck overlooking the beach and bay. "Mermaids and Mutts" welcomes all travelers and guests along with their 4 legged friends. As we are located directly on the beach, you will simply need to walk across the dune to get there. \### \*\*The space\*\* Our lovely little Bungalow was built in 1923 and has been upgraded with all the modern conveniences needed to enjoy a wonderful family beach vacation. We are nestled directly on the beach of the Chesapeake Bay. We have fantastic views of the beach from the decks and the upstairs. We are beach front and your backyard is the beautiful sandy beaches of the Chesapeake Bay. Mermaid's has central heat and air. We have a dual zone system for both upstairs and down. There are 3 bedrooms; two of which are upstairs - one has a queen-size bed and a twin bed with a locking door, and the other also has a queen and a twin with a full curtain for privacy. The downstairs bedroom features one queen bed. We have a 65" Smart TV for you to stream your own entertainment services. We also have high speed Wi-Fi for all your devices. We have a dining room with a dining table and 6 chairs. We also have a smaller additional dining area just off the back of the kitchen that can seat 4. We have two full bathrooms - upstairs has a standup shower and the main bathroom downstairs has a full tub/shower combination. The full size kitchen features a gas stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. Our laundry room has a full size washer/dryer. We are pet friendly with a pet fee. We do have Off-Street parking right in front of the home that can handle up to 3 larger vehicles, or 4 smaller ones. Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 80 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. Even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming home. The larger upstairs bedroom, with two beds, one queen and one twin, does not have a locking door. Instead, in order to maximize the view and lighting, we have installed a curtain that can close but does not offer full privacy. This is a family enterprise and as such we are happy to open our home to families and smaller groups that are traveling or seeking to enjoy our beautiful beaches. No parties are allowed or tolerated. We do have neighbors close by and everyone is entitled (by law) to the "quiet enjoyment" of their homes - including you as our guest. Please respect your neighbors. Any parties will be immediately shut down and evicted with the full forfeiture of all monies paid as well as the security deposit. \### \*\*Guest access\*\* Parking is directly in front of the cottage on our concrete pad. It is big enough for 4 small vehicles or 3 larger ones. Pet Fee is $99 per pet and per stay plus tax and processing fees. If not disclosed prior to your stay, the pet fee is $300 Pets must be house trained and stay off of bedding and furniture An Extra Cleaning fee of $99 will be charged to remove pet hair from bedding or furniture Extra Charges: Early Check-In for 1 PM - $75 (if available) Late Check-Out at 1 PM - $75 (if available) Normal Check Out is 10 AM. A fee of $45 per hour is charged beginning at 10:05 AM Cleaners are on a schedule and can not be kept waiting! This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No loud music or noise. House itself can use some updating. Need replacement or fixing glass door in bedroom broken glass and no knobs on closet. Broken glass on door of laundry. Ants in kitchen. Refrigerator leaking water underneath and ice maker did not work in freezer. Outside overgrown back yard and path to beach. We didn't use the deck at the back of the property because it was really rough and there was only one chair for our group of eight.The observation deck is very sketchy. It was really rough, swayed with the wind and really could stand to be rebuilt. The beach directly behind the property was nice. It was fairly private and unpopulated, which was nice. However, several maintenance and cleanliness issues impacted our stay.\*\*Areas for Improvement:\*\* Found unlocked door upon arrival, exposed electrical wiring near TV, non-functioning ice maker, plumbing issues in lower bathroom with leaking tub and faulty faucets. Rear storm door doesn't close properly. Sand in bed linens suggested they weren't freshly laundered, vacuum was full and unusable, stains on staircase carpeting. Kitchen had ant problem with old, ineffective traps.\*\*Practical Notes:\*\* WiFi information provided was incorrect. Limited beach equipment - only one functional chair available. Several damaged mirrors throughout, including safety hazards.\*\*Additional Fees:\*\* Pet fees (120) charged after booking rather than disclosed upfront.\*\*Overall:\*\* While the beachfront location is excellent, the property needs thorough maintenance attention and improved cleaning standards.
