Located inland from Abu Dhabi, the Arabian Nights Village provides the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert away from the city buzz. Experience the lives of traditional desert dwellers and enjoy the many activities on offer, such as camel treks and falconry.

More than a hotel, Arabian Nights Village prides itself on giving visitors an insight into the ancient Bedouin lifestyle and hospitality, coupled with first-class service and amenities. Sleep comfortably in air-conditioned rooms that emulate a range of different Emirati dwellings, from the woven tents of desert residents to the wood-framed huts of coastal divers.

Escape the desert heat with a swim in the Oasis Pool. By day this waterhole is a great place to relax on a recliner and enjoy a view of the palm tree-lined dunes. However, the pool is best experienced at night, when you can float on your back and look up at the millions of stars that light up and sometimes dart across the sky.

Go on a full-day or overnight desert safari and enjoy activities inspired by the traditional Emirati lifestyle. Ride camels at a desert farm, watch a falconer command his hunting bird or decorate your body with the intricate designs and symbols of henna. More modern thrills include dune bashing in off-road vehicles, quad biking, and sand surfing.

At dinnertime, head to the restaurant called Al Maqam the name means “gathering place.” This charming dining room is decorated with wood paneling and Arab furniture, which creates a traditional Emirati atmosphere. While you sample the local specialties, enjoy the accompaniment of an oud, the stringed Arabian instrument, and be entertained by hypnotic belly dancing and fire-breathing performances.

Don’t forget your camera. The village and surrounding dunes make for spectacular photographic opportunities, particularly at dawn and dusk. At night the village pathways, buildings and trees are beautifully illuminated, creating a surreal atmosphere.

Arabian Nights Village is situated in Al Khatim, a few hours drive by car or bus from Abu Dhabi. A free overnight safari is included with the price of your stay.
