This property is accessed via a steep, narrow, gravel road, which may be icy or snowy during winter weather. Please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. Do not leave any food or trash outside the cabin. Even though the trees hadn't bloomed yet, the views were awesome! The cabin had everything you needed (cooking utensils, extra blankets, etc). Clare was very responsive and gave us super detailed instructions! The only negative was the beds were ok. The house was clean and incredibly well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The view from the cabin was absolutely beautiful—perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or winding down in the evening.Although it was just the two of us, the cabin had plenty of space and would be ideal for a family or a group of friends. The location couldn’t have been better—close to Appalachian State University, downtown Boone, and Blowing Rock, with easy access to hiking, dining, and shopping.The hosts were fantastic—very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The cabin does need some maintenance. Several of the window blinds were broken, window screens were detached or missing, and the upstairs bathroom door didn't close properly because it was detaching from its upper hinge. The ramp leading to the porch was not level side-to-side, and you have to use the ramp because only the patio door has an electronic keypad lock. The cabin was perfect for our family of four (twin 15 year olds and their parents)! The location—and how close it is to both Boone and Valle Crucis—is perfect to be able to get places easily. Great proximity to Blowing Rock, Foscoe, Grandfather Mtn, etc, too. The cabin itself was clean and had absolutely everything we needed. A few trees have grown and obstructed the view a little bit, but there is still a nice slice of open view to the beautiful surroundings. The hot tub was great for sore muscles after hiking and kayaking, and the place is close to other homes, but you’d never know it. A short walk down the hill to an amazing view for sunsets with a beverage. I included a picture of one of those sunsets. Nice privacy and an overall wonderful stay!
