This property is accessed via a steep, narrow, gravel road, which may be icy or snowy during winter weather. Please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means four-wheel drive, good tires, and possibly snow chains. SUMMER CAUTION: Please watch carefully for wildlife. We have foxes, deer and even bears! Do not leave any food or trash outside the cabin. The fire table would not come on. I contacted the host hoping for the offer of another propane tank or at least a reimbursement if I picked one up but was told it should work. The hotub had not been cleaned and had a ring of grease or oil around it. We were not able to use the hotub either. Although we used the stove it wasn't cleaned either. The cabin does need some maintenance. Several of the window blinds were broken, window screens were detached or missing, and the upstairs bathroom door didn't close properly because it was detaching from its upper hinge. The ramp leading to the porch was not level side-to-side, and you have to use the ramp because only the patio door has an electronic keypad lock. Note that there are surveillance cameras covering the entire patio area. ##### Brian J. The cabin was perfect for our family of four (twin 15 year olds and their parents)! The location—and how close it is to both Boone and Valle Crucis—is perfect to be able to get places easily. Great proximity to Blowing Rock, Foscoe, Grandfather Mtn, etc, too. The cabin itself was clean and had absolutely everything we needed. A few trees have grown and obstructed the view a little bit, but there is still a nice slice of open view to the beautiful surroundings. The hot tub was great for sore muscles after hiking and kayaking, and the place is close to other homes, but you’d never know it. A short walk down the hill to an amazing view for sunsets with a beverage. I included a picture of one of those sunsets. Nice privacy and an overall wonderful stay!
