The bed was a double but we slept better in it than we did with some queen beds. The cabin can get warm for summer but we were able to create a good cross breeze by opening both windows and using the fan provided. It is a beautiful glamping experience. The compost toilet was the biggest adjustment for us. The ferry nearby can be a little noisy if sitting outside but hardly ever noticed it in the cabin. It is a one room cabin, like a treehouse over looking St Anns Bay. The washroom facilities are a short walk down hill the facilities. It is not for everybody. It definitely worked for us! We spent 5 nights of relaxing after the beautiful drives we took on the Cabot Trail. The bed was great and having a coffee on the front deck was a great way to start the day. Thank you to the hosts! Surprisingly the cabins were quite spacious. The location was excellent, close enough to town, across the road from the beach and you could watch the sunset go down from the front chairs. Lovely setting on a river. Unfortunately there was a fire ban so could not use the fire pit. The cottage is small but great for 2 people and a medium sized dog. Good size yard for the dog to wander (not fenced) and several walking trails right there. Note that you can't drink the tap drink but the host provided bottled water. Because water is trucked in, showers and laundry are limited. It did not affect our stay.
