The Neighborhood: Vero Beach is a small graceful city along Florida's Atlantic Coast. Known as being a haven for golf, water sports and fishing. Peaceful beaches, museums, nature tours and a range of hotels make Vero Beach a terrific vacation destination and an important part of the region known as the Treasure Coast. South Beach Park offers vast beautiful white sands and sand volleyball courts. Downtown’s South Beach Park chronicles the local citrus industry. McKee Botanical Garden has tropical plants and water lily–filled streams. To the north, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge shelters brown pelicans. Getting Around: Having a vehicle is the best way to get around. Up to (2) cars may park in the driveway. Other Things to Note: The home is professionally cleaned and sanitized between each guest. We ensure that our cleaners are committed to the highest standards of cleanliness. During inclement (cold and/or rainy) weather we do not advise using the pool. The pool gets serviced weekly. Please note that, after it rains, there may be some debris that washes into the pool, which may cause the water to appear slightly discolored. A refundable security deposit of $500 will be authorized as a hold on your credit card by our system, prior to your arrival. This is a pre-authorization hold, not a charge, and will be released following a damage-free inspection after your departure. Any damages or excessive cleaning needs beyond normal wear and tear will be claimed against this hold. Please be reminded that check-out time is 10AM. In order to prepare our property for the next guests, housekeeping is scheduled to arrive promptly upon check-out. Late check-outs affect housekeeping schedules and future guest reservations. In the event you stay beyond the original scheduled check-out time, you may incur a fee of up to $300\. It is a self-catering home, therefore, we do not refill any supplies during your stay. Each bathroom will have shampoo/conditioner, body wash, a single roll of toilet paper, and hand soap. In the laundry room we provide enough detergent pods for UP TO two (2) loads. In the kitchen, a paper towel roll, a couple of trash bags, dishwashing detergent, and sponge. There is a coffee maker, however coffee is not. Salt/pepper and cooking oil are available for use. If anything is missing, please let us know immediately upon check in so we can arrange restocking. We value safety and privacy and that's why we would like to mention we have cameras outside for security purposes, none of them pointing to the pool area. We appreciate your understanding! Interaction with Guests: We conveniently offer self check-in and check-out. Though we are not available in person, we are happy to answer any questions and help accommodate to the best of our ability! We relaxed and enjoyed the outdoor amenities. The house was very clean and felt very comfortable and inviting. Stay was Sat to Fri. Property listing: hosted by "Julie and JB", check-in instructions from management company. House: clean inside, remodeled and painted inside and out. Outdoor area still needs work. Got the belated pool heat email day 2\. Tuesday am, 2” deep sewage backup in master shower. Response to initial call: 30+ minutes, assured it would be fixed / cleaned before we returned later. 5pm: Nothing, reached out again, reply at 7pm: will be done by 10\. @10pm: tomorrow morning. Wed: Found out plumber not called until 6:45pm Tue. Plumber: septic issue. Assured it would be done before we returned Wed eve. 5pm: Cleaners cleaned house but not fecal matter in shower. 6pm Septic co: pumped tank. Night 2 with sewage and smell in the house. Were assured cleaners would finish Thu before we returned. Thu 3pm: still dried fecal matter in shower. Cleaners came @ 4, we didn't speak the same language so we used translate app to communicate and show them. They were not aware of the issue, apologized and finally scrubbed and sanitized the shower. Our checkout was the next morning and we were ready to get out. If we returned Tue to find fixed plumbing and the sewage cleaned up this would be a different review. 3 days with sewage in the master bath, we closed the door and slept in the other bedroom, no offer of alternate accommodations until resolved. Accommodations were perfect for my family getaway. The house is sparkling clean, decorated beautifully and is in a great location for access to the beaches and other activities. The pool and hot tub were the cherry on top of the cake! Julie, with BlueGems mgmt, was awesome with communication. Access entry to property was a breeze and she was also available to assist with any questions we had about the area. She truly cared that we were comfortable and enjoyed our Stay. Some grass treatment and landscaping would go a long way. Neighborhood is not the best. Not scary but many houses are list not kept nice. We never used the pool/hot tub or the kitchen so I can’t review those aspects. Communication wasn’t great. I asked for an early check in and got no response, not even “no, we can’t allow that” which I would have understood. It wasn’t until I messaged the host about an issue (running toilet) did I get a response. Actually received the form email about heating the pool and hot tub a day after I arrived. This email told me to give them a weeks notice if I want to pay to heat the pool/hot tub. A little late for that. Lots of minor maintenance issues that I did bring to the hosts attention. Toilet paper handle and sink faucet handles in master bath very wobbly. Master shower drain clogged. Windows need a good cleaning. There is NO TV in either bedroom. The listing doesn’t mention one but for what TV’s cost it would be a nice addition. Washer and dryer were nice and bed was soft and comfy (I liked it). ##### Megan H. The house was very clean and smells nice. The furniture was comfortable and the TV was great on a rainy day. The kitchen and appliances were new and stocked with most everything you need to cook simple meals. The beds were both very comfortable. The master bathroom has a nice person shower.
