Historic farmhouse in the Bavarian alps

In the small village of Oberwössen in Chiemgau, in the middle of the Bavarian alpine foothills and close to the Austrian border (7km), lies this enchanting 500-year-old farmhouse. The house was originally restored, the two bathrooms and the open kitchen are modernly equipped. An open fireplace and the rustic furnishings of the living room and bedrooms provide the incomparably cozy, Bavarian atmosphere.
Towards the south, the house has two beautiful sunny balconies, a spacious terrace with seating and subtle roofing and a garden with vegetable and herb beds. In the immediate vicinity are beautiful mountain lakes, hiking trails, alpine pastures, forests, skiing and cross-country skiing areas, mountain bike tours, rivers for kayaking and rating tours and various excursion destinations. The house offers the perfect place for recreation in the mountains both in summer and winter.

Bavaria getaway
It was perfect for our large family. A fire to play games by at night. Fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals for our large group with plenty of seating. Laundry facilities. Plenty of warm comfortable beds. Gabi was a wonderful host and made sure we felt welcomed and had all that we needed. The village was charming with a wonderful backerei for daily brotchen runs. Would highly recommend!!

Lovely family stay
Lovely family stay. Property is very unique and comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped but microwave conspicuous by it's absence. Village and location excellent, including nearby good bakery/butcher, however nearer to a road with traffic than expected. For taller travelers note there are some low ceilings as it is classically traditional and unique Bavarian 500 year old house. Bathrooms are excellent and modern.

wonderful old house
we are a family of 5 and we stayed for one week in this beautiful old house with lots of atmosphere. The house has been restored in a very nice way and feels like a home. There are lots of antic furniture and the kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms are big and spacy and also very cozy! Outside there is a very nice dining area where we had all our meals - even the day with rain and thunder - because it is covered! This protected us from both the sun and the rain! The garden is smal but beautiful with lots of flowers. We were so lucky to get permission from the owner to use some of the vegetables and herbs in her garden - and we enjoyed that a lot!

Wundervolle Familienzeit und auftanken pur!!!
Wir haben unsere jährliche Familienzeit über die Silvesterwoche im wundervollen Speckbacher Hof verbracht. Innen wie außen fehlte es uns an nichts. Nach einem sehr herzlichen Empfang haben wir die liebevoll gestalteten Zimmer bezogen und über die gesamte Zeit die urige und sehr gut ausgestattete Küche / Stube genossen. Silvester wurde Raclette gemacht. Die Lage dieses traumhaft schönen modernisierten Bauernhauses ist fantastisch. Perfekter Standort zum Wandern und 10 Minuten zum Skilift. Auch das Eisbaden wurde von uns im nahegelegenen See praktiziert. Unser kleine Hündin hat sich im wahrsten Sinne pudelwohl gefühlt. Für alle Besorgungen und besonders leckere Brötchen, Käse und Wurst gibt es die Bäckerei Meinecke direkt um die Ecke. Frau Speckbacher ist eine tolle Gastgeberin und bei ihr bleibt kein Wunsch unerfüllt. Vielen herzlichen Dank und ganz sicher bis zum nächsten Mal, Familie von Vultejus

Jederzeit wieder!
Der gesamte Aufenthalt war einfach großartig! Der erste Kontakt per Telefon und vor allem der Empfang von Frau Speckbacher war super freundlich und wir fühlten uns direkt sehr wohl. Das alte Bauernhaus ist perfekt für eine größere Gruppe wie unsere Familie, so dass vom Hund übers Kind bis zum Opa alle auf ihre Kosten kamen. Bei über 30 Grad war das liebevoll eingerichtete Bauernhaus, das schon auf den ersten Blick durch die vielen Blumen auf den Balkonen und im Garten besticht, ein herrlicher Ort zum Verweilen: die Harten waren im Garten oder im fußläufig errreichbaren Flüßchen samt Wasserfall, wärend die größte Hitze auch wunderbar im Haus ignoriert werden konnte. Und wenn man die 33 Grad draußen gar nicht mehr aushalten konnte: 3 Minuten im begehbaren Kühlschrank der alten Gasttätte und die hohen Temparaturen waren wieder herzlich willkommen. Jedes einzelne Schlafzimmer hat seinen besonderen Charme, die Bäder sind modern und die offene Küche mit Gasherd ließen die Köche unter uns zu Hochtouren auflaufen. Es gibt einen guten Becker-Metzger-Alles Laden keine 2 Minuten fußläufig entfernt und das Angebot an Ausflugszielen ist riesig. Von der Sommerrodlebahn, über die Chiemseebahn bis zum Landknechte Museum, vieles ist einen Katzensprung mit dem Auto entfernt, man kann aber auch direkt vom Haus aus loswandern. Zusammengefasst: Absolut empfehlenswert!!

Ein Traum!
Liebe Familie Speckbacher, ich möchte mich bei euch für einen wundervollen Aufenthalt bedanken! Das urige Bauernhaus hat so viel Charme und das offene Feuer am Kamin hat jeden Abend zu etwas Unvergesslichem gemacht. Das Landleben war eine willkommene Abwechslung. Wir haben uns in den gemütlichen Zimmern wie zu Hause gefühlt und die Tipps für die lokalen Gasthäuser und Hütten waren super. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder! Vielen Dank für Alles

großes Kompliment an die Familie für die authentische und hochwertige Renovierung dieses einzigartigen Hauses, das man nur als Chalet treffend bezeichnen kann- charmant und freundlich ist der Gesamteindruck ohne jeglichen "Bayern-Kitsch"- die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen und es ist eine Wohltat, sich dort aufzuhalten - auf jeden Fall würden wir wieder gerne dort wohnen

Sehr schöne Unterkunft
Das war unsere erste online Buchung über ein Portal und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Lage ist optimal um man kann alles sehr gut erreichen. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und für Frühstück am nächsten Tag wurde gesorgt. Übergabe und Abgabe des Hauses war unkompliziert und einfach. Das Haus im allgemeinen bietet viel Platz und man fühlt sich super wohl, jederzeit gerne wieder!:)

Wo ist Unterwössen?
Zwischen Ober- und Hinterwössen gelegen schönes(ur) altes Bauernhaus. Vorderwössen habe ich noch nicht entdeckt. So viel zu sehen in wundervoller Umgebung. Noch nie so schön an einem 500 Jahre alten Balken nachts im Dunkeln den Kopf gestoßen, noch nie so im Kühlschrank gefroren (Mit der freundlichen Vermieterin hinterher darüber gelacht.) Liebevoll renovierte originale Stuben, eine einladende Terrasse mit gemütlichen Nischen zur Einkehr. Uns hat`s gefallen.
