I cannot speak highly enough of how wonderful this property is. The grounds and rooms are beautiful, the perfect place for a wedding or a short stay. The hosts are warm and the breakfast was delicious. We will be back.
Beautiful, lovingly restored heritage bed and breakfast.
The room was thoughtfully appointed -- four poster bed, original art, underfloor heating in the bathroom, claw foot bathtub with nice touches including fresh flowers, champagne glasses by the bathtub, and a tea/coffee/hot chocolate station.
There is also a living room, with a well-lit fire, warm and cozy, that guests are welcome to use. (A nice stock of board games and books too to enjoy too.)
Breakfast was served in a gorgeous, emerald-coloured heritage dining room, with a choice of "big breakfast" (cafe style poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a great mix of fresh greens) or a "sweet breakfast" with a heap of fluffy pancakes and fresh fruit. One of the other guests was celebrating a birthday, and the pancakes came out with a birthday candle. It was tasteful and celebratory.
The property itself includes well maintained gardens, a dovecote, a conservatory with nasturtiums and thriving houseplants, and a chook run.
My husband and I very much enjoyed Boscobel, and would highly recommend it.
We enjoyed an absolutely lovely stay at Boscobel - the only disappointment is that we couldn’t stay longer! Comfortable, charming accommodation and just a short walk into town. 10/10 recommend.
This is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. The property is set amongst large gardens near a river with a good walking path along the river to the town centre. Our room was large modern and clean. The breakfast was fabulous.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely property, room was well appointed and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was excellent. Annette and David were great hosts with a good knowledge of surrounding area.
Pleasant hostess, very nice ambience, room fittings, especially the coat hangers and rack. Excellent shower, bathroom and breakfast; very comfortable beds.
We only spent one night , however we fell in love with this beautifuly restored period house. King size bed was very comfortable, room was warmed for our arrival. Spacious room with own shower room, large bottles of shampoo and conditioner supplied along with usual toiletries. Views of the garden from the room were delightful. The host, David was very friendly and provided a wonderful full cooked breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room looking out on to the garden. Will definitely return here if we need accommodation in the area. Highly recommend.
Staying in someone’s home is always unique and a privilege. Annette was very welcoming and full of information on the Nth West Coast. Little touches such as a bottle of port outside our room to sample and homemade shortbread were much appreciated.
The rooms have been thoughtfully renovated and are large and comfortable. Very relaxing with views into the large garden or across the river to fields out of town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property. Our room had a lovely view, comfortable bed and the most fantastic ensuite bathroom. Annette was a perfect hostess and gave us some great local knowledge for the rest of our trip. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the wonderful atmosphere of this historic home. I only wish I had booked two nights instead of one.
This is a beautifully restored historic home with modern facilities. Our room was stunning with lovely views , clean, quiet and comfortable . The breakfast was delicious , with a great selection of freshly prepared cold and or hot dishes .
There’s good safe off street parking .
The hosts are charming and friendly giving helpful advice.
The house is full of character and extremely well maintained.
Our large room was very comfortable and clean with all the amenities you'd need.
Quiet rooms with a very comfortable bed made for a great night sleep.
It's well located within walking distance to the main town centre and a short drive to Devonport or Penguin.
Annette and David were very welcoming and made the stay extremely pleasant with a hearty delicious breakfast!
We were welcomed by the owner who was very friendly and accommodating. The room was magnificent which is an extension of the historic home. The breakfast was superb.
