Gorgeously situated in a quiet and scenic hilltop setting, this tree-lined home in Truro makes a wonderful beach-goer's escape or writer's retreat. Spend your days in the golden sand of Longnook Beach, and your evenings roasting marshmallows around the firepit and soaking in the hot tub beneath skies full of stars. This two-story home sits on the ocean side of Truro, in an enviably private setting at the end of its road. There's even a trail in the backyard that leads you across the boundaries of Cape Cod National Seashore. And if you're a beach-goer, you're in luck - not only is Longnook Beach less than two miles east, you'll have beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler provided to bring with you. Each morning here begins on the beautiful, three-season porch - a glassed-in space where you can sip your first cup of coffee, admire the surrounding woodlands. The outdoor spaces are equally enchanting, whether you're barbecuing and dining on the deck, unwinding in the hot tub, or telling stories by the firepit beneath a canopy of trees. Spend the evening hours preparing dinner using stainless steel kitchen appliances, playing board games at the dining room table, and watching movies on the smart TVs with Amazon Fire TV both downstairs and up. A private washer/dryer, complimentary WiFi, and window air conditioning are provided as well. Things to Know Streaming services are available with guests' own account credentials. Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. The house is at the top of a hill, making for beautiful views from the hammock. We all (the dog especially) loved how serene it felt. We saw no one and heard almost no one, unless you count the coyotes at night. Longnook Beach, with its steep and dramatic dunes, is less than a 3 minute drive away, but we also enjoyed making an adventure out of hiking to it using trails from the backyard.The house is functional, and the owners made good choices about what to splurge on - mattress in primary bedroom, big dining table, and stove on porch! We spent a lot of time reading on the porch in front of the fire. It was heavenly!We were really very comfortable. I wish we never had to leave.Check-in was seamless and the Vacasa staff were helpful and understanding. We reported minor issue but asked that they wait until we left to address it so our dog wouldn’t be disturbed. We all very much hope to stay here again, and there are a few things that could be improved. The basement smells strongly of mothballs and the smell permeated the downstairs if we opened the door. The carpet tiles are showing wear and have an aroma; washable rugs like Ruggable might be more suitable. The house is beautiful and located so close to P town. The hot tub and out door area was great to socialize in. The house was cozy and had so many extras . Definitely well worth the stay . We loved the quiet and privacy, as well as the view, at this lovely home. Very clean but also dog friendly, it was exactly what we hoped to experience for our end-of-college year trip away with our son and our dog. The sunroom is lovely, and the hammock out back is not to be missed. Do bring bug and tick protection, the critters are plentiful this year. Great walks available around the house, and equidistant from Wellfleet and PTown made this easy peasy. Morning beach time with the dog was amazing.
