My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Ranchette. It was super clean, comfortable, quiet and cozy. Just a short walk to the water's edge, where we found the turquoise blue color of Glen Lake absolutely amazing. The owner, Chris, was welcoming and friendly. We had fun exploring the area and kayaking the Upper Platte River. We would highly recommend this little gem, and we hope to come back again someday.
The “cabin” is small but has everything two people need to have a wonderful experience. I’ve been coming to Glen Lake since the 50s so am very familiar with the area! The location is perfect and the sandy beach is great! You can walk out in the water for 100 or more yards before you reach deep water. The lake bottom here is sandy which is not true of all the lake. Other areas have rocks. The host is very accommodating and friendly.
A very clean, cute little cottage with a/c, a private bar-be -que grille and many housekeeping amenities provided for a comfortable stay. Nice well maintained grounds with beautiful beach area and use of a rowboat, paddle boat, paddle board, shuffleboard court, lounge chairs and picnic table with chairs.
We loved the Ranchette! It was clean and spacious enough for my daughter and I. The property was beautiful and the beach was very nice. We especially loved swimming and sun bathing. Thank you Chris for a wonderful stay!
The ranchette was very clean, in a great location. It’s set back a little from the water, but not a far walk. It has access to kayaks, paddle boat etc. we did not swim because of swimmers itch being a potential problem. That wasn’t a big deal because Lake Michigan is a short walk. It was also nice having the town in walking distance. We thought there was a sauna and washer and dryer, however it’s not in the same building. Overall a nice place for two, especially if you’re going to be out exploring most of the time.
This place was immaculate and the grounds felt resort-like. Great location. The cabin is larger and nicer than it looks in pictures.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The cabin were original, but very nicely kept. Lots of beach amenities such as paddle boards and beach toys. Property was very nicely kept. There were yard games and grills for all to use.
Be advised that sheets and towels aren’t included in the price. The owner, Christian is kind and helpful, but prefers no outside company. We had another family in Glen Arbor stop by for a few hours for a picnic and boating (a small, family thing- not a drunken party) and this was obviously was frowned upon. We wouldn’t not have stayed there had I realized that ahead of time. I don’t like to make anyone feel out out.
As long as the above won’t be an issue, it’s a great place for a family getaway. The beach is perfect for kids and it’s a 10 minute walk into town (maybe 15 to lake MI)
Great location, owners were really friendly. I’m very pleased with the entire setting. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who was interested in looking for a place in the Glen Lake area. I would not hesitate to rent this again next year! Thanks!
Thank you Chris for a lovely stay! We stayed for our honeymoon 30 years ago and had a wonderful time…did not disappoint this time either. Great Lake access for cottage stayers and short walk to town. Perfect location and wonderful host Chris. He surprised us with champagne and flutes and flowers upon arrival knowing it was our 30th anniversary. Great weekend getaway—thanks Chris!
Great location, owner very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Perfect for a couples get a way.

Great Stay! Close to everything you want beach, town, privacy.
I loved the stay at the Ranchette! The manager was very kind and made sure everything was at hand. We had to make our own bed, but they did provide the linens. We were a little early, but still never had to do that before. Also, I reminded the manager he needs to change the wifi username with the correct password that took a bit, but figured it out. Finally, the cable box didn't work and said it was old I hope he'd make sure everything is in working order before renting out in the future, but I have to say Chris was right on the Internet Provider and were without cable the first two nights and got them out there by the opening Thurs night football game so thanks for that! One more thing he told us checkout was at 10 and it was actually 11, but we had to leave early anyhow.
I would also put in the ad that the washer and dryer are not in the ranchette, but in another building I assumed it was and could confuse others later on.
These are all minor things and he corrected the cable box. He said he's going to change the wifi username to the corrected one and the other stuff is just has to know what he puts in the ad and what have you. All-in-all it was a great few days and loved Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes! Thanks for the experience.

Cozy, everything we needed. Beach and facilities are amazing!
We had an incredible stay in the cozy Ranchette! Literally everything you could need for a great family vacation is right at your fingertips here. Chris, the host, is more than accommodating and checked in daily to see how we were enjoying our stay and offered us several recommendations. Chris has a deep connection to the history of Glen Lake and the surrounding area which was fascinating. The beach is just perfect! Our little ones spent several hours in the shallow, kid friendly waters. We feel restored from our stay here and look forward to returning.

Just as advertised!
My boyfriend and I loved our stay at the Ranchette. The bathroom is a little bit small but we didn't find it an issue at all. Everything else was plenty spacious for us 2. Chris was great to work with and the location was a short drive from town (about half a mile) and a short walk to the lake (just across the property). If you are looking for an adventure on your next trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes or beautiful Glen Arbor, give this place a try. We look forward to coming back for another stay. - Morgan
